Love this hidden gem!! It's a great place for a weekend getaway with the family. They have great spots for camping!

Great place to take the kids 👌. You can kayak, play on the play ground, fish, camp 🏕 .I've seen cows, birds, fish and a beaver too ! Only thing I absolutely hate is the toilet area which is a vault system that is disgusting and creepy. Although, it is better than having no toilets at all. 🤷♀️

Just okay. Shady af. Not as safe as Lake Ray Roberts. Unstaffed area where you pay on the honor system. Usually some questional, maybe even homeless people there. You may or may not be offered drugs for sale depending on the day. Take $6 cash per car. Great for kayaking once you're actually on the water.

We went accidentally on National Public Lands Day (Saturday September 30th 2017) and am glad. I never knew about this cool little area, until aunty&unky told me to check it out. We found a geocache or two and enjoyed walking through the beautiful grasslands with our dog (psycho-bunny-hunter). It was a beautiful day. Will return to check it out in different seasons, and maybe camp. 🖒

I believe there are properties that are private by the campground. But I also believe that the LBJ grasslands are several hundred acres with all kinds of space to camp. I've driven through and almost got lost it's so vast. There was many cool spots and smaller ponds and such that looked great to camp in. There's more than one entrance to the grasslands so look on a map or the signs that the park puts up to make your way around. Look out for purple paint on tree's and no trespassing signs. But with a little common sense there's more than enough land for you to feel away from others.
Just rode my road king in here. It's gravel road but smooth. Just send it. Lol
No reservation needed. It's a self-pay system, just put money in envelope and drop into box.
I don't see why not, however it's not huge. There is a boat ramp.
Not a big travel trailer, maybe a small one or a pop up camper
None available. Some camping spots are close to parking though
yes
Yea did you think big brother was not gonna get his
Technically yes, as long as you're not disturbing others. This is a quiet place set up for walk in tent camping. Nearly all the sites are right next to each other surrounded by parking lot on the North and East, a lake to the South, and the forest to the West. It's not really set up for RV camping. This is a fee area. Anyone set up there has paid money to be there. It's not like you or they can just move a little farther down the road so as not to disturb each other. If you have a quiet generator and camp at an outlying site by the lake, you can direct the exhaust noise out onto the lake where there's nothing nearby to reflect it back or near the latrine and use the concrete building to screen the sound from other campers.
