I attended the CDL B course which was instructed by Ken. I can honestly say that this school does not only teach you how to operator a CMV, it will teach you how to be a better driver overall! Ken was very laid back and was a great instructor. His experience in the industry showed and his knowledge and instruction was invaluable with helping me pass the course and state test. Being the only school in the state at this time, I can assure you that they DO NOT mail it in and actually care about seeing their students succeed. I even had a conditional offer of employment with a company that I connected with through the school before I graduated! If you are looking into getting into the trucking industry, you can do no better than this school. Thanks to all the CDS staff in helping me start my second career!

Took the HAZMAT theory class with Jim the school’s owner today. GREAT experience & Jim is a fantastic instructor!! I highly recommend this school.

I started this class with zero prior experience. It felt kind of like a trucking boot camp in the beginning haha. A lot of information to take in the first couple of weeks. I love that there were 3 instructors. Each had their own teaching style which helped to make sure the class understood the course. Ray, Roy and Ken are great. Unfortunately, I didn't pass the yard skills test the first couple of times but the owners (Kathy and Jim) were kind enough to make time for me to practice before I retested. I got my Class A license today and am so excited to move forward with my career. The ladies in the office are fantastic also! The ONLY thing I didn't like is I wish I got to spend less time in class and more time driving the truck. I believe that's something that is going to happen with future classes though.

If you want to get your CDL and be a skilled driver this is *not* the place to go *anymore*. However skilled and knowledgeable the moody instructors are, it does not outweigh the shortcomings. The owners literally lied in order to have me removed "per DOT law"...I am beside myself and consumed by the motivating factor. Really, when you see a dedicated and determined student, you ice him? Real poor integrity.

Hi Gary! You do not need to have a GED to attend training for CDL-A. That being said, students must maintain reliable study habits when in school as this is a college-level course. Hope this helps! -Jordyn Admissions Director

The DMV has a "40 hour log" sheet that is very helpful in recording driving hours. You can find the link on the DMV website. We like all students to have a minimum of 12 hours of practice driving before they start school so that they have maximum benefit from the 10 hours behind the wheel with the instructor.
Every 7 weeks
