First off, i was really excited to come here because a co-worker of mine recommended it and i go to Winthrop Beach a lot on Sundays with my girlfriend. Mind you, i work at an upscale seafood place in Boston so i completely took him at his word without question. But yeeesh. It was bad. Really bad. Place wasn't even half full inside and we waited about 10min before a waitress came over. To her credit, she did immediately ask to take our food order after deciding on drinks. Then things quickly went downhill. Another 10min for the drinks to show up. We counted several bar patrons and 4 to 6-tops getting sat and somehow getting food for their entire table before us. I opened up Google and started to read very, very similar reviews as to what we were experiencing. It seems like they have no designated sections for their servers and the ticket system must be very outdated because the main cook kept coming up to the bar asking questions or handing them single plates of food at a time. Very, very disorganized. Since we weren't in a huge rush we kind of just let it slide but when our food came about 55min after we ordered we couldn't even believe what we were tasting. My girlfriend got a seafood combo platter which was basically just a giant pile of fried everything, and I got a lobster roll at my co-workers recommendation. NOTHING, and I mean NOTHING had seasoning. I had to go across the room to another empty table to grab salt and pepper, and we honestly should have asked for some lemons or something. The fried fish tasted a bit old, the clams were chewy, the scallops and shrimp were actually pretty tender but again fries and onion rings had no salt and none of the breading is seasoned at all so its just like eating straight fried flour. The lobster roll was shockingly tasteless for the money. Basically just over-steamed lobster pieces in massive chunks tossed in some mayo on a slice of iceberg and a processed white bread hot dog bun. Again, no seasoning in the dressing. For complete transparency, we did end up finishing the lobster roll together but it was mostly out of principle and spite for the money we were about to spend. I'd say the tartar sauce and cole slaw were above average and the only things that stood out. For two of us, we ended up with a $90 bill....which also took forever to receive as the waitress seemed to get sidetracked even two more times between bringing us to-go boxes and extra tartar sauce that she offered. Super disappointed as it checks all the boxes I want in a seafood restaurant except actually delivering on flavor. Not worth the price, doubt we'll be going back.

I went to Winthrop and the beaches around the area. I had a friend who grew up in the area recommend me Belle Isle for great food. Did not disappoint. I got the bake haddock combo, the one thing about the bake is that the fish serving is so big that you may want to have the bake transferred to another plate because it does release some water during cooking. Would have left nothing on the plate otherwise. Maybe have add a little fried trio sampler to taste all the delicious seafood such as scallop clams and calamari.

We came for lunch as a group of four and, we had a good experience at Belle Isle Seafood. Their seafood dishes were very fresh and tasty while the portions were healthy and filling. However, I must agree with other reviewers in that the prices were on the higher end. I mean, paying $180 USD cash for mainly 4 entrées, plus one drink or two, was definitely not cheap; and, the place is definitely far from being anything fancy. Yet, the atmosphere is casual but nice and, the staff was very friendly and diligent.

I dined here yesterday for lunch and the food left very little to desire. The only saving Grace was the sweet and attentive waitress. My friend and I were in the mood for seafood and this spot popped up so we checked it out. The interior is pretty cute so we thought the food would’ve been amazing as well. My friend ordered their grilled shrimp tossed in a teriyaki sauce and served with an order of French fries. The shrimp had an off taste to it as if it went bad or something. The odor was very fishy as though it either wasn’t cleaned properly or went bad nevertheless she sent it back to the kitchen. As for me, I initially wanted the lobster roll but couldn’t justify the hefty price tag for 1/2 a pound of lobster when others were a fraction of the cost. Instead I opted for their seafood combo platter that came with fish, scallops, clams, shrimp, onion rings, and fries. I’ll be honest the presentation of this dish looked great but the food was not. It had to be the most blandest seafood I’ve ever had and when I questioned why the food didn’t have the basic seasonings, I was told to accommodate their demographics. I immediately thought their demographics were those who don’t like flavor into their food and rather enjoy bland food. To be honest, it wasn’t worth the $29 and on top of that the clams had an off putting flavor to it. Overall, this spot was overrated and not worth the high price tag.
