Great way to get an up close experience at how they preserve the bones they dig up. My son loved being able to hold a T-Rex tooth. Best museum experience I've ever had!

I recommend watching the video before seeing the museum. You can see & hear about where the phones are found, cleaned, photographed & stored. It is on the beautiful campus of southwestern Adventist University.

We had the most informative and educational tour with Dr. Wood, the Museum Director and a leading member who oversees the dinosaur dig at the Hanson Ranch in Wyoming. It was so fascinating to see a working lab and learn how dinosaur fossils were excavated and preserved. Dr. Wood walked us through where they found the bones and what they think might had happened to those dinosaurs. He then took us to where they store the fossils and literally pulled out the trays from the locker with all the bones - mostly teeth, vertebrae, limb bones from upper Cretaceous dinosaurs, and we were able to see two well kept and restored triceratop skulls and jaws. This experience is beyond words!! I think this might actually be my first time touching actual dinosaur fossils. I would highly recommend anyone to go and see for themselves. The museum right now is by appointment only. Make sure to call or contact them before you go.

Hello, Donald! We have a yearly research project for a month every summer, during which we excavate and analyze our field site in Southeastern Wyoming. Our massive collection of 32,000+ bones comes from this operation. To find out more about how you can join our Dino Dig as a volunteer, stop by the museum!
