I was amazed to see that Boston has such a great cathedral! Built in 1875, it's not widely known neither located in a key area of the city. It's even hard to find any mentions of this church in guidebooks. However, it's a truly beautiful church - one of those that can trigger a mystic experience while you stroll inside.

The Mass in Spanish has no specific schedule, but you can find the days that are available on the website.
They are the red hats worn by cardinals when in '" full " formal regalia after their death. As i understand the custom it is very old. The hats are left as a reminder until they decay. I believe Cardinal O'Connel's may be the oldest. Louis Geoffrion

The Silver line (bus that acts like a train) has a stop across the street. You can pick it up at Downtown Crossing. Otherwise, take the Orange line to Tufts and walk ~15 minute (3/4 mile) down Washington. Back Bay is a similar distance and Broadway is slightly farther.
