Nice trial, there are 2-3 good sized jumps/drops Wish there were more of them, but still a nice scenic trail overall

The park is designed for mountain bikes and is well maintained. I'm a runner and come here because it is the only natural surface trails in or near Carmel. The winding of the trails are annoying at times though I'm sure it's fun for mountain bikers. Thus for runners it's not the most fun. The portion of the park south of I-465 is a beautiful restored prairie. North of I-465 is riparian habitat and full of invasive honeysuckle though in fall a lot of the nettle flowers and captures a certain charm.

Took my dog for a hike here, trails are very well maintained. This trail is right by the interstate but once you get a few minutes in all you hear are the birds chirping. We went early and only saw a couple cyclist.

Mainly for mountain bikes, but a one way trail that as long as we have not had a lot of rain recently is a nice hike within city limited

I almost did!! You gotta be careful!
Contact either Hoosier mou tain bike association...(HMBA) or Indy Parks for this answer. It is described as a mountain bike trail however you can experience joggers, hikers, beginners or children along the trail. Its mostly fairly easy with some frequent tricky spots especially for the inexperienced. Ive never seen an e-bike there nor a sign forbiding them unless its been recently posted
Used to be dirt bike. Motorized vehicles not allowed anymore.
Yes I walk all the time with my dog!
Just pull over when you hear them coming, but wait until it's safe for you to do so and when there's sufficient space for you to get off to the side of the trail
It is free to ride and a great trail. But with all the rain it's a good idea to check their Facebook page to make sure it's open.
Town Run will open again today around 4pm. Use caution as the trails may be slippery in low areas.
The trail is officially open dawn until dusk, so the hours vary depending on the time of year. The Trail gates do get locked when the river floods, so expect the park to be closed if the river is in a flood stage. It is usually closed for several days past the flood event so the trails will dry. I'm a member of HMBA (Hoosier Mountain Bike Association) who maintains the park for the city. The hours are a city park rule, and the gate closure is controlled by HMBA during the flood events.
Free to use thanks to Indy Parks and volunteers who help to keep it in running order.
