the lady who helped me completely ruined my card. specifically told her no priority shipping because I did not want priority shipping anywhere on the card. she told me she could put a small sticker. ok a small sticker is fine. she then proceeds to slap a sticker bigger than an index card across my entire envelope. why? it has the price and priority shipping in the biggest letters. what a disappointment. I wish I had just taken the card and ripped it up. this was a horrible experience. I spent so long on that and the entire thing is completely ruined. she covered stickers without asking and again, told me it would b a non descript sticker and then proceeded to put two on, one the size of an index card. not how I expected the mailing of a get well card to be handle w so little care and understanding that it's appalling. please do something about it because I can't imagine other people being cool w entire cards being covered that tell u exactly what u spent. how is this remotely ok?????absolutely ridiculous, humiliating, and a waste of the hours I spent on that card. ridiculous.

My mail was being held at the post office because my mail box overflowed. I called to check to see if this was the case and encountered the rudest man I've spoken to in recent. I tried to apologize for my mail box being over flowed and aknowledged that it is my responsibility to empty it for them during his lecture to me. He went on to say "Oh there's a check in there, that's when it becomes important". I tried to explain that the check isn't even mine and that I take care of my disabled mother on my own who was in the hospital and between that and work is why we overflowed and he cut me off to say "i dont care who's it is, we'll send your check back next time". I was nothing but polite to the guy and accepted responsibilty. I only tried to tell him the reason why because he was ranting and lecturing me. He has no empathy and poor customer service. He is a poor choice for answering phones. Maybe put him in the back sorting mail. Seems like a much better job for someone with his attitude. His monetary threats were to try to demean me as if I was struggling for this check and he was the mighty one. Maybe he is experiencing a power struggle in his own life perhaps with his wife or who knows and it makes him lash out at people who are going through a difficult time in their life so he can feel strong and like he has control somewhere. Either way this guy sucked...

Update: after my previous review several years ago, this post office has undergone some employee changes and I would say the service is now greatly improved. To be fair, I primarily use online service and package pickup service, and hence I rarely go to the counter for service. Still, the employee there seem friendly and the manager is willing to help when problems occur. So a thumb up. Below was my original review four years ago: Absolutely terrible service. There is a reason why everyone here left a rating of 0. Isn't that incredible? Most of the time I print shipping labels online at home, and never have to deal with post office clerk. The few times I had to go to the post office, I was really terrified. This rude woman, who everyone is complaining about, I pray every time not to be handled by her. Unfortunately my pray fails almost every time. There was one time when I was handled by another woman, I thought I was lucky. You know what, I was wrong. She was equally arrogant. I was mailing an international package. The box was not big, but there was enough space to put stamps and labels. She told me there was no space, that the post office is more important than me, and I have to make space for them. Really? I couldn't believe I heard that. Also, I needed to use registered mail, and she kept telling me that registered mail is the most secure way to send international packages, BUT I cannot track it and it will not show me delivery status. Seriously? That makes absolutely no sense. I also know it's a lie because I've used registered mail before, and I know can put the label number on the registered mail and it will show me delivery status. In any case, it was so unpleasant that I lost all my faith in this post office. I would just drive to a different post office next time.

HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE. Can we give a rating lower than 0? I just moved to the area and have had to visit this location 3 times. Each time ranged from annoying to nightmare. On the last occasion I went in with an international express package to be shipped. I'd printed the labels at home, but was unclear on how/where/which of the 3 customs/shipping label to apply. When I asked the woman at the counter for a little help on what to do, she flat out told me (no kidding, this is a quote), "I cannot help you with that. You printed the labels at home so you are supposed to know what you are doing. I can't tell you anything." ARE YOU FRICKIN KIDDING ME?! She told me that since I printed the labels myself all she could do was accept the package. I asked once again, can you just tell me which of these labels needs to accompany the package. Her reply, "We're not allowed to do anything if you printed the label." WORTHLESS. Yes, it was the little black woman with too much make up and insanely bloodshot eyes, who moves slower than a drunk snail. I've never had such a bad experience at ANY post office across the country. If I'm not mistaken, by using USPS, printing labels at home or purchasing at the post office, is what pays her ridiculous government salary and benefits. I think I understand why some of their employees "go postal" if they have to work with people like this. I'll be going to the Hadley or North Amherst locations from now on, this one is pathetic. The only thing worthwhile there is the 24 hour drop off service where you don't have to interact with the employees.
