This is one of the worst places to visit customer service wise. They have absolutely no remorse or care for their own mistakes. Multiple times have showed up for appointments and they told me they were not scheduled even though I had confirmation texts from them. Went in to get a pair of new prescription sunglasses, told them which ones I wanted and they wrote down the wrong pair and wouldn’t correct the error so I’m just out $250. Will never return!!!

New to town. Got an eye exam, ordered glasses. I was advised by their staff you need to turn your head in the direction your looking. Blurry to the right and left basically tunnel vision. Last week I drove at night wow I should have kept my old lenses, these aren’t safe to drive with at night. I 1st ordered sunglasses. But because I waited 7 or 8 months to update my regular glasses they want me to pay for another exam. Over $1200 spent and can’t drive at night.

I would recommend against going to this place. I have been going here for the last couple years and it was bought out by the company it is now. I felt pressured each time my exam came around to buy more expensive contacts by the Doctor there. One time he tried talking me out of my contacts I was using for a product 3x the price! It became even more evident this last time around when I was recommended to see a specialist outside of the Merrimack location for a vision issue I had brought up to the Dr. After my regular glasses fitting and exam I had told the Dr about a vision issue I was having. I was told that I would have to consult with the Sensory/Motor specialist for this issue at the Manchester location. He couldn’t answer many of my questions on this issue while we were there, alluding that he was not the best fit to help, thus having to see the specialist. At the time I felt grateful for his honestly and was looking forward to my consultation to begin the steps to correct my issue. The day before my appointment came up, I received a confirmation text saying that my appointment was back at the Merrimack location with the Doctor (who initially recommended me to the specialist at their Manchester location). I called the office to have them verify where my appointment was. The woman on the phone told me that the appointment was “always” for the Merrimack location and I proceeded to explain to her that I was told I needed to see an outside specialist and they were only to be seen in Manchester. She put me on hold to speak to the Dr. and when we spoke again, she said that the manager had overheard when my appointment was being made and they moved it because the specialist in Manchester was leaving the practice and booked me back with the initial doctor who referred me to that specialist. I didn’t appreciate that she lied to me without having known the full scope. They also never called me once to let me know that the appointment had been changed and were hiding everything going on with this specialist leaving the practice. I didn’t have any confidence that my issue would be correctly treated with the Doctor who recommended me to go elsewhere. I also never received an apology for the way this was all handled. I didn’t expect to have this amazing experience, but I sure expected them not to lie to me and treat me poorly. I just wanted a stable Eye care facility that I could go to year after year. To make a long story short, please don’t go here unless you want bad care and Doctors who push for you to get the most expensive products.

Dr. Groves was awesome for both myself and my son. Unfortunately, when I called to verify whether or not the glasses were close to arriving I was given a generic 2 to 3 week answer. I was pretty sure she didn't bother even looking and I was fine with her calling me back if necessary. The next morning I was flooded with messages and calls that the glasses had arrived. Although she may not have been able to guarantee they would have been there, I'm pretty sure that making the basic effort to look into it and get back to me would have given me a chance to have been there the next morning just in case. Unfortunately, what happened is I received this message when it was too late. I could have planned to be at the office at opening on Friday and still made it to work. My son is starting a new school on Monday and I wanted him to have the glasses if they were available. Ultimately, I ended up scrambling and found someone that could take him to get the glasses in the afternoon but I would have appreciated it if they bothered to actually look into it when I called the day before and told me they were at least on their way even if she couldn't guarantee their arrival by Friday. The girl who answered the phone was rushing to get off of it and had no regard for our situation and I doubt this was the first time. I see other reviews like this. I'm not sure I will be back for another visit. We did not expect the practice to bend to our needs, simply checking on the order and getting back to us would have sufficed but even that was too much to ask.

Hello! Sadly, we do not cut glasses the same day at this location. Our Manchester office does carry a variety of prescription single vision lenses that we can cut the same day though. Please call us at (603) 644-6100 and we can verify if we have your prescription in stock.

Hello Gerry! We recently re-branded our name to be MVC Eye Care. We opened our doors in 1990, as Merrimack Vision Center, but have since grown to have 5 office locations. We still have the same high quality eye care, but needed to update our name so that it would stand for each of our locations. :)
