This campground was great! We walked all 3 loops to see what each spot had when we arrived (we were able to change our reservation with the camp host when we arrived as other spots were available and our reserved spot only had 1 tent spot. We needed 2). Pit toilets, dumpsters, and water spigots were within short walks of each site, if not right next to each site. The lake shore is extremely close to the campsite and has a boat launch with 2 spots to launch. Each site has a table, and a fire pit with a grate that you can move to be out of the fire or over the fire with a swinging arm. I loved that the campsite was in the trees, and so you had a little privacy from other sites. The lake is big and often times we felt like we had the lake to ourselves even though the parking lot for the dock was full. I did NOT like the mosquitoes (make sure you have bug spray!), and although there is a "beach" area, it was rocky and filled with driftwood. The lake temp was about 62° in early July, so be prepared for cooler water. The hotter the day, the better the water feels. My biggest complaint was that this campsite has rules, but does not enforce them. Quiet hours end at 10:00 p.m., but we could hear our neighbors with several teens shouting and giggling until after 11 every night. You aren't supposed to swim off the dock as it is for boat loading and unloading only, but we had to constantly be aware of kids jumping on and off as we drove out and came in. I know, not the end of the world, and nothing some ear plugs and careful driving can't solve, but safe practices and respect for your camp neighbors go a long way. Let's be safe and have fun out there! I would camp here again.

This campsite was great. We were in A5 and there was room for 3 tents which was rare on the loop. Most spots were made for trailers. We had trailer space for our boat. There is a boat launch right at the campground which was perfect for lake access. The reservoir is huge and we had plenty of space for surfing and tubing. Beautiful scenery.

A12 loop A is the best site hands down, only stupid thing is you have to pay 8$ for extra vehicle. Other than that it's a great place.

Calamity is misnamed. Should have been beautifully serene or slice of paradise. Certainly better than any camping on the dirt roads with the speeding dirt bikes and atvs. Calamity is calm and beautiful

You cross the river in front of the dam and come up from the side. It is clearly marked with signs.
