Greyhouse Inn Bed and Breakfast with Cabins

This is an awesome sweet retreat!!! I staying in the duplex cabin. Bed is super comfortable!! The cabin was cozy with the fireplace!! I really enjoyed my stay!

The Carriage House was so cozy and charming. Everything was well maintained. There was a friendly cat that hung out with us on the patio. Everything went smoothly. Sharon was so kind to leave many breakfast items in our cabin in the mini kitchen area.

On 3-1-2019, I reserved a 3 bed cabin at the Greyhouse Inn for 8-9-2019 and received a confirmation #67092920. On 8-7-2019, I received a call from Sharon, asking me to switch to a 2 bed cabin w/ a futon. I said I wanted to keep the 3 bed cabin i had reserved, as the other one didn't fit my families special needs. I received a call from Sharon on 8-8-2019, a day before we were to arrive, saying my reservation had been cancelled. I think this was very poor way to treat a family 1700 miles from home. The neighboring town of Challis was having a music festival and there were no rooms left in the area. I reserved that cabin over 5 months ahead of our arrival. They have what seems to be a very aggressive cancellation policy. Shouldn't they honor their confirmed reservations? The response from the Greyhouse Inn is clearly inaccurate. As this website shows, I have made only one review. Secondly, in your phone message to me, you clearly state you cancelled my reservation. When I called you and tried to reason with you, you hung up on me. I have contacted the Idaho Division of Tourism, the Bed and Breakfast Association and the Idaho Better Business Bureau about the very poor treatment we received from you. Other people should probably do the same.

My wife and I stayed here when we ran the Salmon half marathon. It was the only place that was still available because of the race. While we loved Salmon, Idaho overall (very charming little town), this place was a little disappointing. We had to share a bathroom with other guests staying at the bed and breakfast. This would not be a huge issue if we were aware of this before our stay (sharing a bathroom seems to be an important fact that should be readily available to guests in making a determination as to whether to stay here). All of the other Greyhouse guests that we met, were race participants. When we asked about breakfast the managers (or owners) said they would not be changing the breakfast time (which is fine -- it just didn't come across as very accommodating). If we ever stay in Salmon, ID again, we will probably check out a different location.
