Although it took a minute to figure out the system for ordering we were very happy. Staff was very personable and helpful and attentive. The food was delicious with large portions and decent cocktails. Everything was so quick. We didn’t have to wait for anything and as the night went on getting refills on drinks was easy. I recommend going if you have not been since the new owners took over . It was a great night and we will be back.

Cut your loses and eat at Freedom Cafe. Ricks is just a tourist destination. We usually eat here every summer. NEVER AGAIN. So much more expensive, a mimosa and a Budweiser was $25. There is a new online system in place too for ordering literally everything. Everything is on an iPad so it’s very difficult to navigate I found. I miss the physical menu. It is very hard to try and have a sit down meal but be on your phone almost the whole time trying to order food, drink, refills etc. Also, I love that they are taking care of their wait staff, but it does feel very bazaar walking in and seeing a ton of waitstaff sitting around but you have to do all the ordering yourself. I would like to mention that the women who was helping us was VERY sweet. I see that the owner(s) are sounding off to other reviewers saying that Ricks is “no longer for them” or being very passive aggressive which is also disheartening because a lot of those people have probably been coming to this restaurant for many many year. As a 25 year old, this not this is not the “direction” that I was to be dinning in in the future. Over all, just got a stressful experience

My family has been coming to Ricks for 20+ years and have always loved our visits there. However, this time was absolutely horrid with their new online system. We did not have one single interaction with a waitress. No one even bothered to ask if we had any questions about a confusing online system or the menu. We were left 100% to our own devices to just figure it out, and when we did flag someone down to ask a question, servers were completely rude and dismissive. Food all came out at weird times too and they brought us the wrong orders more than once. Plus, after terrible service, they charge you 20% gratuity automatically. We might as well have ordered from a fast food window. This was not a dining experience at all, this was chaotic and impersonal. Rick’s has lost a family of life long customers. Sad to see what was once a good thing be ruined by an attempt to make an extra dollar off its customers.

Great view of the water, we had wings, bao buns, mozzarella sticks, chicken sandwiches, fish and chips and the blackened fish tacos. All were good, tacos lacked a tiny bit of flavor but all others were great. Drinks were good too!

Hello Ken, The entire food & beverage industry is going through a very unique time currently. COVID exposed a lot of the fundamental issues that restaurants faced, from back of house staffing wages, to in equality of pay from front of the house to back of the house. Now with staffing issues and trying to find help with already small margins, restaurants are looking for unique ways to transform the way they do business. We personally spent 3 years researching this system and style of doing business. We also had a large hospitality group out of the south which has adopted this strategy for the past 3 years help advise us. This is very common in cities and is now spilling over into smaller towns with restaurants with large volume. We also traveled to several different states the year before making sure this system worked in different type of restaurants and settings and conversed with the both front and back end managers on what the pros and cons were. We hope you embrace!
