We loved this cabin! It was nice to sit on the porch and watch the deer grazing. We will go back and stay again

Great stay in cabin #5. Very clean!! We stayed as a family of 5 in the two bedroom - two pack n plays in the dining area, kid in bottom bunk, parents in the big bed. Worked great. Would work even better with bigger kids who can handle a top bunk. There is no clearance to sit up in the top bunk, just FYI. There is also a carpeted loft area, where people could definitely sleep in sleeping bags or an inflatable mattress. One other FYI/warning - the big bed is positioned in the room with zero clearance at the head or foot, which was difficult for my 6'4" husband. So if you are a tall person, plan on sleeping diagonally in that bed, and if you are sleeping next to said tall person, be prepared to sleep on a small corner of the bed! Worked great for us and we would definitely go back!

It sounded wonderful: cabin with king size bed, dog friendly, excellent view. $145.47, plus $20 for the dogs, plus tax. The reality: cabins 1 and 2 are a duplex that share a wall. The cabin was smaller than most motel rooms. The king size bed was jammed into a corner so you could only get out of bed on one side. There was not enough room to open two suitcases at the same time. We also received a text prior to arriving telling us we had to wash our dishes and take out the garbage when we left. The front was red dirt with gravel. It rained. Dogs and red mud were not a great combination. We never talked to anyone. Oh, and the bed was soft.

It was a nice, clean room. We will need a bigger cabin next time! The one with two beds only was a little small for two people and a dog but we made it work. Staff are really friendly. The only thing a little bad was the entrance road to the cabins is hard to see in the dark. Just look for the little covered wagon that is lighted up. Nice views from the deck. Nice and quiet.

What qualifies as a resort? I didn't even see a soda machine

Well, one definition I found (Merriam-Webster) said, "A place designed to provide recreation, entertainment, and accommodation especially to vacationers : a community or establishment whose purpose or main industry is catering to vacationers". Another definition gave examples of other resorts like a beach, all-inclusive, destination, adult-only, historic, etc resorts. The Bearlodge Mountain Resort is a bit different. While we don't have any vending machines (yet!) we have things like amazing views, hiking trails just behind the cabins, quiet nights, and animals wandering the grounds, to name a few. We don't have any beaches, but there's a great reservoir a half hour away that has some. Our resort is cozy, simple, and amazingly peaceful. If you give it a try maybe we can give you an example of a different kind of resort than you may be used to. Thank you for inquiring, Jess.
