To explain my experience at brookwood I would say it’s very unfair and has the worst staff who are not trained properly. There’s also health problems, to start there’s mold in the food, next they don’t follow the quarantine guidelines. They also let kids time free. I’m very u happy with the experience I had to go through at this group home I would not recommend for anyone.

I was a resident here in 1993 and God only knows what would have come of me and my sister if this was not our safe haven. I so sorry to hear of the decline in staff and the residents views. I often wonder what became of the young ladies and staff that became my family for over a year. I can say this, it was not perfect then, but it was SAFE the staff CARED for the residents as much as was allowed by the residents. Any young lady seeking an opportunity to have a life outside of abusive and drug infested home life, Young Women's Residence, the name when I was there can only be what you make of it. We can be angry and broken or we can work hard at not becoming a product of our environment! There were girls that fought, stole and ran away, but my sister and I became great people after leaving there and I sure it was only because of this intervention. Keep the faith and give yourself an honest go at turning your life around for the better. You are worth it! God bless.

No, you are better off if you go to the shelter if it's still there on 5th Ave N, if it's still there, you need a social worker to work with you to get you in there. This is what I had to do. If you have more questions. Find me, and write me back. I have some information about this place, as I have lived there. Please talk to me before trying to go there.
