High Mountain Pies

I normally don’t write reviews for places with as many glowing reviews as High Mountain Pies, but this has to be said: The last time we came was 5 years ago, and the pizza was just as good then as it is now! It’s really good, fresh, flavorful pizza. Leadville has grown a lot, so I’m very happy that High Mountain Pies is doing so well. There are some really creative pizzas to choose from. We got the Cast Iron, which has ground bison and a garlic oil base (plus more yummy toppings). It tasted as good as it looks. I would just say to please be patient as this is a very small restaurant with limited seating and a super hard working staff. We visited at around 3pm, and it was packed! So be patient and kind to the folks who work there.

We stopped at this place on our way home after a road trip. We saw how high the reviews were and the food looked really good. It did not disappoint! Everything was very tasty but the garlic bread was exceptional. If you get a calzone be aware that it is very large so it can feed two people. Also, this place is extremely busy so be prepared to wait. We had about an hour wait for our stuff and as calls were coming in they were also quoting them about an hour. It’s a very small building so seating is limited but there is a picnic table outside and a bunch of other outdoor seating behind the building.

Best pizza I’ve ever had in my life. It was cooked, PERFECTLY. The supreme was my favorite, but they have many sizes and types to choose from! I can see why this place has such good reviews. This will by my new lunch stop when visiting Leadville!

Unexpectedly great food in a small town! One of the best pizza I've have in a long time, the bread thickness is just right, I like the sauces with homemade sausage. All the wait staffs are super friendly!
