If you are interested in learning about the tribes from Alaska, this us the place to go. Very informative, they have the actual homes that various tribes have lived in and employees there to explain the living arrangements, tools used and even learned about the dyes used in coloring the totem poles. The even had a few artisans displaying their craft at very reasonable prices, and native dancers. And....there's a shuttle to take you there from the log cabin visitors center for free.

Can't recommend this center enough. Very informative, with many exhibits both inside and outside for all ages. Many "touchable" exhibits for little hands. My favorite part of the visit was storytelling/singing on the stage right inside the main door. And I absolutely love the fact that most of the exhibits we're staffed by younger (teens - twenties) people. In my opinion, that demonstrates a desire to carry on traditions, but also makes the exhibits more approachable by you her visitors. Thank you for the informative center, exhibits, and staff.

Its great place to get an understanding on their culture and way of life in history and today. I was lucky to meet some native artists with very talented skills. Worth a visit. Only need about an hour there. Wish they would expand the coffee snack shop.

We loved our visit and learned quite a bit about the native ancestries across the state. There were live demos, dance performances, and you can walk around the variety of home structures for each native regions in Alaska. A must-visit if you’re interested in history and if you’re in the area.

Open but they have everyone wearing masks. The cafe seemed open @ least for coffee. The native vendors were there BUT the gift shop isn't open until some time in June.
It ranges from $25 to $17. Children 6 and under are free I believe.
The exhibits and programming at the Alaska Native Heritage Center and in the downtown Anchorage Museum would give her insight though would not answer the question you pose. British vessels including a voyage of Captain Cook did reach the area in the 1700s.and through the succeeding years
$24. But for $32 you get both the anchorsge museum and the cultural center. Both worth a look at and there is a free shuttle from downtown to both.
Don't worry about lines here.
Its about tribal life as it was then and a few where their cultural clothing and speak to how their traditions continue with current generations.
Alaska is part of the United States. Trump is blocking applications for asylum, contrary to international law and US practice since our founding as a nation. Sorry.
Yes there is: in the summer it's $25 for adults, $21 for Seniors/Military, $17 for children 7-16, and free for children 0-6.
Just Google Shuttle to ____. The shuttle I believe ends mid August.
10 am
There are stairs but there's wheelchairs available.
