I go for the funky hipster collection. What I really get from the sojourn is always a warm welcome, smiles and appreciation. I've never experienced any staff crankiness. Mr. Rufus is a kind, heartfelt man. When my father died 14 years ago, it was only the Salvation Army who was willing to come and literally take EVERYTHING in my father's apartment. Other organizations, including estate managers were picking and choosing. The only thing Sal's Army did not take was books. My father had 6,000 of them. Everything else was a go. What a relief to me, his only child who was living out of state at the time, to have the Salvation Army's support. It was at that time that I learned about their programs and the good works they do to help people turn their lives around. The men who were driving the truck and hauling the goods from the apartment were in a recovery program. They explained that Sal's Army provided a home above one of the stores (this is in New York City) and the work they were helping me with when my father passed was part of their recovery - helping others.

I just wanted to say I believe in the Salvation Army and all the good things they do for the community and I also encourage the community to stop by the new Salvation Army on Tuttle Street in Sarasota and show support to them. They have all kinds of programs for adults and children Bible study church recovery meetings and I want to thank the Salvation Army themselves for all the good they do and all the help and hope they give to people in need. Thanks be to God
