Good place to catch fish, but don't eat them... Not very tasty ones come out if this water. For easy access to catch and release, or for a nice walk in a trail right in town, this place is great. For a fish you can fry or a nice hike through nature, there are several other nearby choices, although you may have a bit more of a drive for the best spots!

Love this river an lake! My dad caught 3 in the river! Was fun getting out of Denver an fishing, love the deer and ducks it was a beautiful day an place!

Bathrooms are abandoned and there's little trail mantinents but it's still a beautiful place to go for a walk in a small town and see some beautiful views and wildlife.

Yes but no it's big enough, but very alge logged and not very deep
I absolutely would not recommend doing that. Although you can, but the city of salida sends it treated sewage into this lake and there is a lot of algae and toilet paper.
