Great park. Tons of space. You can hike, bike, run, or ride horses. Pretty easy to spend a few hours exploring. Well maintained and not too crowded.

Such a peaceful place. Friendly staff, clean rooms, everything very well taken care of. It's obvious a lot of care goes into upkeeping this place! I can sit and birdwatch for hours and not get bored. Learned a lot about the wildlife in Iowa!

I have loved this place since I was a kid. They have primitive camp sites also for $5 a night and they will give you some fire wood with it. Last time I was there they didn't take it to the campsite for me so it stayed in the trunk of my car. A mile walk out with wood and my gear is to much to carry.

Great place for a morning walk. The River Bluff trail was nice and the Prairie Loop was cool. Several different types of trails to choose from. I saw three deer, several squirrels. There were tons of unique Bird calls also. The nature center was decent, but didn't see a lot of information for children's activities.

There is a hike-in primitive camping spot. No water/power, but there's a fire pit & a picnic table. It is in the middle of a trail, though, so you could have foot-traffic disruptions up until park close. You have to get a permit from the office, and I believe it's $15/night.
