This park is good, it has lots of trails, but none of them are really interesting, they just exist. The trails near the river are more interesting than trails that aren't unless you're in the southwest corner of the park. The rolling hills in that area are cool. Overall it was a good park, just nothing stood out to me that made it unique.

Wild River was a very nice park. We stayed at the Guest House for the weekend and it was very nice and cozy. The fireplace was warm and there was a good stock of wood outside. We saw a few deer hanging around outside, but they never asked to come in despite the cold and snow. They could have just walked in and stayed in the downstairs gear storage area if they had wanted. There would have been plenty of room in the spacious and open basement. We did some hiking on the trail by the river and spotted a colony of trumpeter swans having a dip in an open area of the frozen St. Croix! Their loud trumpets echoed across the river and were very impressive! I wanted to blat out a couple notes to see if they would come over for a chat, but decided against disrupting their bath. It would be fun to come back when it is warmer!

Great park for snowshoeing. Lots of skiers here as well. Bring your camera and make sure to make it to the St. Croix.

This is a really nice park for hiking, especially with a companion. Many of the trails you can hike here are wide enough to walk side-by-side with someone and hold a conversation. You can also string a few trails together pretty easily to get a more seamless experience.

You can get a yearly pass good for all state park entrance fees for $35. Otherwise, the daily parking is $7. Campsite fees vary, depending on the amenities in each; usually about $15 to $23 a night, with some off-season rates lower than that.
Only at the check in station which does not reach the campground. Bad reception overall since you are in the wilderness
