We came for the play “Uncle Vanya” on the opening night and it didn’t disappoint. Upon our arrival, the staff checked vaccination cards before allowing entrance to the play. Masks were required to be worn during the entire play. Uncle Vanya is a theatrical classic. I honestly loved "uncle Vanya" the character, the actor did an amazing job in the play. The theater itself is beautiful as well. All the staff were super friendly and accommodating, we even heard some good history from the staff inside the members only lounge upstairs. It was the first Wednesday of the month, aka wine Wednesdays, where complimentary wine and beer are served before the show. There is plenty of parking at the back of the building, and also a parking structure just across the street for $5. (They close at 11pm) Overall, we really had a great time from the beginning to the end!

What a wonderful way to experience the culture of a city. California's state Theatre is impressive. The building itself is historic and gorgeous, but the production is slick and modern as well as accessible. If you're able to take in a show here, don't miss the opportunity.

Have seen several incredible shows here over the years, beautiful venue with top notch programming. So happy the lights are back on!

There is also a Mexican restaurant called El Portal. Food is very good and it's just across the street from the play house.
This is a place for Patrons to answer questions as the Theatre has nothing to do w/ it.
They do have a window where they sell tickets. WHEN you buy your tickets determines the availability.
There are numerous parking lots and street parking. Get there early to find street parking
Call them.
They still have classes...not certain of cadting calls. Call their main number on website. Very professional and extremely helpful. I was researching my Grest Grandmother as vaudeville actress in the beginning of he Playhouse. I don't live in California.
