I was transferred here after going to another hospital's ER. One complaint: I had a migraine for two days. Even though I came with my medicine list from my pharmacy, I was not able to get my prescription medicine for migraine until my Dad brought my medicine bottle in and then it had to be cleared through pharmacy. Finally I got my medicine and after being sick for two days I got my medicine and was better in two hours. The staff were nice to me and caring for the most part. The food wasn't bad. The beds are horrible and the shower only had cold water. The groups are basic and not always well facilitated. I didn't feel like I was part of my treatment plan. But this hospital changed my medicine and helped my suicidal thoughts. I was there six days in all and if I needed help again, I would consider here.

Every single negative review is true, not just some people with bad experiences. I thought that when this process started, but I was so wrong. Not only are doctors/admin impossible to reach, but they have given incorrect and inconsistent information to both me and the patient. There is no clear reason why a 72 hr hold got upgraded, and every reason they HAVE provided has been inconsistent with what the patient’s story about their current mental health state, or outright inaccurate about their mental health history. Even with the patient’s outside care providers attempting to advocate for them—another mental health provider!!—they are not responsive and provide inconsistent information. Or, even if you’re on an approved list for information, the charge nurses will interrogate you and get defensive if they even THINK you’re some sort of third party advocate. At this point they are refusing to release my family member because they aren’t going to group therapy, which isn’t universally indicative of stability in all patients. Using this sort of “one size fits all” measurement for someone’s mental health state is not helpful to all patients, and their inability to acknowledge that shows the true indifference of their staff. Go literally anywhere else for psychiatric intake treatment, because they obviously extend all of the holds they can for the money. I don’t know why else they would be THIS bad across the board if not for money, unless they genuinely just hate the mentally ill. Upon my family member’s release we are getting an attorney because of how badly our case is being handled. Also, the fact that they respond to every negative review with “concern” is laughable. This many complaints with the same issues should result in change, not some copy-pasted boilerplate nonsense with a phone number they won’t answer. I’m fully expecting a response to this review before I hear from any doctor or case manager, since responding to google reviews seems to be a higher priority to them than keeping family members informed. ETA in another review they told someone that sharing specific details of a patient’s stay is a HIPAA violation, but yet their response is that they can’t investigate without details? I refuse to believe these responses are anything but lip service, because I’ve explained the details of the situation to a number of people when I do get someone on the phone, and it seems like they don’t care unless other people can see it. Like in a google review. Also I was right, they responded to this before anyone called me :)

One of the most terrible experience of my life. All the nurses gaslight you and will see ANY emotions other than happy as a reason to keep you longer. I felt held against my will so I AMA out of there. They keep all the patients sedated. They told me I would stay only 3-5 days max and I ended up leaving on the 6th day. My HORRIBLE psychiatrist, Dr. Al-Asadi, kept me in longer than I should have stayed there and the other doctor who worked under her, Dr. Cruz, straight up lied on my chart and said I was still feeling depressed and suicidal when I never said I was (this was under the less than 5 minutes with any individual psychological caregiver meeting). I legitimately have ptsd from this place. I can’t eat grilled cheeses anymore or have on socks and sandals on (I know these are mundane things but it’s still something that reminds me of the worst days of my life). Please do not send any of your friends or relatives here again. ALSO, they lied to my friend who called and complained when they were going to keep me longer than 6 days and told her I had a family meeting with my mom the following day but I never set up a meeting with my mom nor did she know about my stay.

I see why they have such low reviews..with exception of one nurse who was helpful when I did visit my son, and one security guard that did his best to assist me. I don't want my complaints to reflect on them and the lady in the front desk, who also tried to be helpful, but the case manager Jose was so heartless I could tell he is there only for a pay check, and a lot of those nurses I talk too had no empathy for the well being of someone who is mentally sick. I called and requested updates on when my son was being released and got really got the run around. Before I could try to make arrangements for my son who has been just wandering around in the streets for years . All I can say I brought him in from UCLA with a hold and after they "held him for about five days with a hold, his medical would allow , they let him walk out by himself. Once they drained all they could from his insurance out he goes. . Now no one knows where he is

Treatment, simply, is aimed at remedying the immediate problem. It doesn't address long lasting or permanent recovery. However, an accomplished Tx Specialist should direct their clients to a recovery/support system, of some sort. There are many options, to include 12 Step Recovery. Tx shouldn't be looked at as the End All/Be All... Tx is the first step toward long lasting recovery but, is only the beginning. Don't look to Tx as the permanent solution...
We do not have a mobile crisis team. Please call Tri-City or 911 and ask for an officer trained in crisis intervention for psychiatric emergency.
