Great local library with friendly staff and good selection of books and media. Kids' program has good attendance rates so if registration is recommended in the newsletter, I would highly recommend doing so to guarantee a spot. During school days, it gets a bit rowdy with kids from area schools walking over and hanging out until they get picked up. Librarians do a great job of minimizing the disruption, but don't expect to get much quiet time between 3-4pm on school days.

This library now offers indoor seating and unlimited use time. Great place to study!

Completely agree with the reviewer who said this small library is noisy. Kids are quite loud and no supervision to remind them to keep voices low. A few small desks towards the front but then you’re near the front desk and all the noise/discussion that goes with that. Can’t speak to the book selection as I came here to study.

When I used to go here after school, I was not very fond of the studying environment. It was always very loud and was very cramped. Try to avoid this library during the after school hours of the school year. Many students from the neighboring middle school pour into here and the noise level usually increases. The occasional yelling of one of the senior employees (to restore order among the students) is also a nuisance and very distracting.

Questions & Answers

Does the library have books on solar power?

Of course! The Torrance library system as a whole has many different books all relating to different aspects of solar power. Just come on in to any one of the libraries and the people at the desk can help you find something. Just to let you know as well, even if they don't have a particular book or you feel the library is lacking in what you're looking for they have a process where you can submit a form, and the librarians who order books actually look to see if they would like to maybe add it to their collection. As a plus if they do they actually will let you know ,if you want, when its available.

Can we walk in durning COVID and look around? Or is it drive through and pick up type of thing?
