I guess this is true of many Small Marinas. Leeward bay marina is like a little community , sort of like an old town. I think most of the vessels are simply stored here, and only used a few days a year. As is true of all Marinas in Los Angeles Harbor, live aboard status is granted to very few, but we are allowed three over nights per week. I'm sure some folks push that. So there are many people I casually recognize, and maybe twenty or so I know. The management is strict, but working diligently toward making many improvements. While there is certainly room for improvement, the slip fees are some of the best in Los Angeles Harbor. I personally prefer misfits, and adventurous folks, so I feel right at home. If you feel best at home on your couch or discussing your new neighbor's inadequacies with the Home Owner's Association... Maybe having boat in a marina will not float your... boat. If crashing into a swell maximum sheets to the wind, by which I mean drunk on how small you are to the Power of The Sea, then throw away your couch, and choose to make everything about the Wind, Sun, and all the other Stars... Boat>Condo! Unless you are endlessly at Sea, a marina is likely a good idea. Leeward Bay Marina is the right one for me. Is it the right one for you? Only you will know for sure.

Aweful.... Lots of rats on the docks at night that eventually get into your boat. Tweekers everywhere, and the river dumps tons of raw sewage and garbage twice a day not to mention the noisy trains blowing there loud horns all day and throughout the night. It's a crazy place to be. Don't recommend that marina for kids....

Our trimarans and monohull are docked there (affordably). It's not fancy but there are lots of really good people there who help and look out for each other. PLUS there's the Chowder Barge!

This is uniquely neighbourly marina with a tight knit community far from the breakwater, so slip costs are low for Los Angeles harbor, and many boats are here while being repaired and refitted. Management is fair and kind and patient, leading to a core of long term tenants. All this surrounding a very pleasant restaurant on a barge. The locals even clean up the trash that naturally collects here by the wind from the harbour. The worst thing I could say about Leeward Bay is that I could not invite a boating friend to move here as there are no open slips available.

No. We are not taking any live aboards. The Harbor Dept, the governing body that is in charge of all the marinas, has a mandate that marinas cannot exceed a certain percentage of live aboards. Where we are in Wilmington, that percentage is 5%, and we are at capacity. It is very difficult to find a marina that will accept live aboards.
We have several boats for sale currently. Check out leewardbaymarina.net or pacificyachtlanding.com-call us at 13108305621. All used sail boats.
You would have to qualify with the marina office and show you can get insurance on a wood boat The insurance industry is trying to screw owners of wood and steel boats, so all I can tell you is, good luck.
I do not read Spanish and do not understand the question.
