It was not crowded the day I skied there. Lovely scenery, nice vibe. Great learning area with separate lifts and green runs. Nice blue runs as well. I only did one black run, Sluice Box. It is Very Steep. I only did it because it was a warm sunny day, so the snow was forgiving. I did it in survival mode with careful turns and big traverses. Glad nobody was above me; they'd have been annoyed. Did I mention it's Very Steep? I'd go back, hope for powder and a local to ski with. I'd like to find something steeper than the blues I did (Berkeley was closed for racing) but less steep than Sluice Box.

Hey I've been working in the kitchen at Discovery since just after Christmas. It's a good spot, with amazing coworkers and a fresh lively atmosphere. Here's a few pics.... Didn't have the opportunity to take any runs this year. Pics are all from the bottom..

It's a great ski hill, but customer service is terrible. I bought my pass online the day before I planned on going, but woke up not feeling well enough to make it. When I called to get a refund I was told it was against their policy to offer refunds. It feels like they stole my money and don't really care about my circumstances. Seems like management needs to rethink that policy.

Superb ski Hill. An experts paradise, fantastic steeps. Incredible grooming and we had perfect snow. So glad to have discovered Discovery ☺

7 days a week, but check with the resort to see if there are any special closures for the day you want to go due to weather, snow totals or roads.
Its extremely rare for silver chief to open. I think it was open for less than a week last year, maybe a day. So probably not.
Yes! Discovery is great for kids. The beginner area is a big conveyor belt ; ) no hanging in to a rope tow. Next step is the beginner lift. It's lower to the ground and slower. Definitely helps kids get over fear before moving on to the "big" lifts.

Yes they are. There are some covid restrictions but they are working hard to keep things moving smoothly. They do advise to eat and or rest in your vehicle but there are also accommodations available.
Group lessons are an hour and a half. They want you to show up early to get prepped to start promptly at 10:30.
