What a wonderful discovery to snowboard at this unique, mountain top ski area outside Lakeside, Montana!

We are locals. Nice place to ski or snowboard. Been coming here for years. Have paid for private lessons for the whole family and friends over the years. Rental staff and instructors are fabulous. Today a well-known candy tycoon's family removed our food from our table and put our belongings on the floor and took our table. We were told they have preference and apparently are free to take anyone's table. The manager did finally give us a generous monetary gift for future visits. Which was appreciated.

This was our first trip to Blacktail and it didn’t disappoint. Most notable are the employees. We drove straight through from Wisconsin and were greeted by the smiling face of Rickie at the ticket window. Although all the employees were friendly, Tim, located at the entrance to the Olympic Lift, was positive, motivating and complimentary to all the guests. It’s so refreshing to see employees engaged in their job. An added plus was the awesome view and being able to grab a table and bring our lunch into the lodge.

Accidental powder day turned into an epic adventure. Open meadows and not enough time in the day for everything. Great for the family or a personal day trip. Will be coming back soon!

The road up to Blacktail Mountain itself is a cool trail and the xcountry area might be ok too.

Yes, we have room for motorhomes, however we do not have hookups. In the summer, the gate to the parking area is open on the weekdays. It is locked in the evenings Monday through Friday, so if you parked up there on the weekend, you would be locked in until Monday morning. If you parked on a weeknight, we could let you out when we come up the following morning.
No the lifts are closed
Yes, our slopes are open to non-motorized use in the off-season. The road is gated, so your best access is from the radio towers.
No, due to extreme weather. Stay inside and stay warm!
It is a combination of jumps, boxes, and rails. It is slightly small but you can get fantastic air on some jumps. They vary in skill; beginner, median, expert.
