These guys really just want to sale jobs. Last response to a review the company said that they do over 700 pools a year!!! That’s a lot of pools! They do not communicate. When they do they lie or they just don’t communicate with each other so no one knows what’s actually going on. Our job started in January and after one disappointment after another they finally asked us if we wanted to cancel our contract. They didn’t want to make their mess right. Customer service down the drain. They blame it on the labor shortage but yet they keep selling jobs!?

UPDATE: After they saw this review I finally got a response and my long awaited proposal. They apologized identifying the lack of a proposal was a mistake. I am reviewing the proposal now. One more star for finally responding. I was promised a proposal quote after spending time with the designer to discuss what I wanted showing him around my yard and discussing pricing. For whatever reason, the person who came decided I wasn’t worth providing a proposal? I never heard from him and instead I have been getting INUNDATED with spam emails (so many I had to unsubscribe) and now requests to review this company. The first request for a review I sent rated one star and explained that I never got a quote. I expected an email acknowledging the oversight but instead I get another invitation to review them for Google. If only your employees cared as much about me as your marketing team. I can only guess that my money isn’t as good as people lucky enough to actually get work done by you? Am I too brown? Who knows cos I never heard anything from them. If a company can’t manage to supply you with a written proposal then I can only imagine how bad they are at installing/remodeling pools.

I would recommend Alan Smith Pools to anyone and here are a lot of reasons why. First of all we asked around and a lot of our friends, who also live in Mission Viejo, recommended them and we found out that they have been in Business since the eighties. We needed a pool renovation because the contractor that built our pool five years ago did not seal it properly. So we bit the bullet and finally decided to call Alan Smith and we were impressed from the very start with Mike Sickels who came out to give us a price. We had to remove all the plaster, all the tile and all the coping. Basically we needed a new pool. Mike Sickels walked us through the whole process and we met him later at their headquarters in Orange. The showroom was extensive and their people were all top notch. We liked the idea that they hydro blasted our plaster off the pool instead of chipping it off. They apparently specialize in this procedure. They had a virtual tent covering our pool when they hydro blasted it which kept most of the dust down. They even put a visqueen draped wall between the pool and the house to protect everything from dust. I have never seen a company that thought each process through to protect our property and also I loved the fact they cleaned up like “they were never there” everyday. We were so impressed with the fastidious and expert laying of our tile by Salvador and Fermin. They were here every morning at 7 am and worked so hard to do a perfect job. I have never seen such hard workers. They should get a medal. Of course all this would not have happened but for our Superintendent, CJ. He oversaw a lot and and dealt with the permits, the inspectors and just about everything. We were adamant about just getting our pool plastered but CJ suggested we should go with their small-sandstone pebble look which would hold up better and not discolor. We are so happy we did. It looks fabulous. Thanks, again, to Alan Smith Pools for doing a great job. Diane B. Mission Viejo

Completely Satisfied! I am very impressed by the professionalism and quality of this company. All of the employees were courteous and respectful. After receiving a number of different estimates, it didn’t take long for me to realize that I chose the right company. Everyone was eager to answer my questions, address my concerns and when necessary they would even follow up. They were happy to accommodate our changes and they regularly sent emails to advise us of their schedule and their progress. They are a customer driven company with prideful employees that delivers an overall great experience. Super happy with the end results!

Hi Kurt, we understand your frustration. We are actively working with the board to get their tile selection. No work can proceed until product selections are made by the association. Thank you for your patience.
