Big Bend Campground

Beautiful spot in the Crooked River canyon, right below the dam. Tables, bathrooms, fire pits. Great spot for camping, or day use. Fishing was disappointing on times I went.

The first campground down river from Bowman Dam, this year round location has 15 non reservable campsites and potable water in the warm months. One group campsite and one accessible single campsite. A slightly steep wheelchair paved trail leads down to the upper river bank but not right to the Crooked River. No campsite power but fly fishers love the place.

Bette Dragonwood

We loved our visit! The trails and campground were set against a backdrop of rugged cliffs and a meandering river. We will be back.

Oregon Overlanding

Views are decent, the water flows down a long concrete slant, from Prineville Reservoir, and since it comes down like this it produces a lot of white foam, camp far away from that and you are fine!
