I was down there after the flood they are doing a lot of work to fix everything. The ATV tracks look great ppl are having a great time. The boat ramp was doing well also but picnic areas and camping really took a hit.

The worst experience. Went down to see what campsites we're open because the water is up super high friend got out jetski in water to take 3 kids for a ride each. While 3rd kid was out ranger approached us told us we could not be swimming on this side of lake because of flooding. Told her ok we understand we were waiting on jetski to get back and our mother to see what we needed to do. To be as safe as possible. Decided to leave. Because unsafe. Made us pay $5 per car for the tiny amount of time we were down there in the unsafe conditions. Pathetic.

The older lady who was at the receiving gate, the attitude she had when we were and we were asking questions. Our party prepaid for our spots, and our name was on the list before we arrived. We were told they paid and it was no issue but the gate keeper said they weren’t allowed to do that, and that they didn’t pay. She was entirely not professional and absolutely rude for any questions I had. The whole perception and environment didn’t seem fun after my first interaction at the first time I was ever here. Avoid this place and go to a different park for riding four wheelers / camping. It’s a beautiful park at sunset but the treatment we received ruined the experience.

Excellent place to take off road vehicles. Alittle messed up they started charging 5 dollars for day passes but thats capitalism when the dam has been shut down for the year. Overall a awesome little island. The farther you go back the more sand you run into. Defently will be back again
