I would not bring kids, dogs, or anyone not sure of foot to this trail. The trail narrows in places to less than a foot with sheer dropoffs onto rocks. The natural beauty of the creek and forest is undercut by trash and graffiti.

This is one of the more wild parks in the East Bay. Trails are narrow and often plunge steeply down into the creek on one side. There are no handrails. After a harrowing experience with three small children on a muddy path one day, I didn't go back for years. I'm glad I did. It is quiet enough to hear the sound of water. It is shady with the perfect amount of light filtering through the towering branches of old redwoods.

A hidden gem in the heart of the urban hills. An easy trial with an amazing view. A small creek runs along the semi-paved road with limited parking space. I got so excited seeing spreads of the Golden Poppy on the hill side and hearing the stream/creek and bird chirping on the opposite side. What a lovely weekend! I saw a big group of people on a guided tour for bird watching. I think it's with the EB Regional Park, please comment if you have info or the event link :-) I walked my dog and we met many other friendly dogs in our 20 minute brief hike. The trial stretches further but we needed to get going. Since the road is uneven, I would recommend wearing shoes with good ankle support. They're my lifesaver since I occasionally fall even on a flat smooth road.
