Walnut Campground brick bathroom in electrical hookups looks and smells like no one has cleaned them in quite a while. They are getting as bad as Cedar Ridge bathrooms. Management, somewhere along the line, should be ashamed.

Stayed in Cedar Ridge. Restrooms/shower houses - mens & women's we're NOT cleaned the entire time we camped there... Camp host hours are short; don't want to be bothered if/when assistance is needed in the "off" hours.

I liked it a lot, my 17 month old liked the play ground, and my wife is not outdoorsy enjoyed herself too. Just remember to bring bug repellent with DEET, there were mosquitoes (because it's a lake) and ticks. Not too many people either.

Pretty happy with the campground at $20 for electric and water. It is not on the water but you can see water from it. Boat ramp and protective cove is very close. I would walk but not carry my kayak there. The benefit of being off the water is much less wind and its open since half the campground was under water recently and still closed. Sites are not right on top of each other but its not state park space either. I cannot speak to the public restrooms as we didnt use them but the playgrounds are open here now. Make sure you have a map because there are not really signs on where the sites are. One is posted you can take a pic of at the campground gate but nothing to take with you. Shade is hit and miss by site. The trees have grown but they appear to have lost some to various diseases and are replanting and fighting off what they can. All sites have fire rings, lantern holders, charcoal, grills, tables, are paved and mostly level with gravel and grass. I camped in site 25. Its a bit close to the campground road but the camper provides privacy. Sites have been busy but easy to get here a week in advance except for holiday weekends which we avoid. Closest firewood is the small bait shack down the road along the way in with ice etc. Hosts are nice and helpful and rangers make frequent rounds. Used to camp here in the group sites and in elm growing up and there have been improvements there as well. The back in sites offer the most privacy for obvious reasons. Coverage if you care TMO/SPR is decent 3-4bars with 20-40mb down 1-3 up depending on bands. Vz 3-4bars 10mb down 4 up.
