My girlfriend and I took my mom who was visiting to the tasting here and all three of us loved it! Amazing scenery with a very welcoming and friendly staff. The zinfandel was out of this world as well as the other choices. Couldn't ask for a better experience. Will definitely be coming back

Small winery. Very personal attention. Tour of their cave with interesting tidbits on the family history. Excellent Zinfandel, Merlot, and Cabernet blend.

If you want a unique experience and looking to buy a couple bottles of really good wine that you will probably not be able to find back home-then make sure you stop here. They are a family owned winery that chooses to only produce small amount of wine so they can take their time and produce great wines. They have cab and cab/Merlot mix that are wonderful. The bottles are about 40$ and at time of our visit no cost for tasting (not typical tasting room) and small tour. Note if you visit in May they might be closed. Their local wine members pick up theirs wine and celebrate during that time so they close to The public. Memberships are limited but worth it.

Very exclusive... we had a great experience overall. We got a taste of the '06 Zin thanks to Rick there, and it was mind-blowing. They have an amazing cave, and a lovely tour given by the owner himself! 👍

Questions & Answers

For some reason I have a lot of Rafanelli Zin. The most recent is a 2011. Would it still be good? I also have some old Cabs from them. Trying to decide what to save.

It is the best place you can visit. 💯

Is a Rafanelli Zin 2011 still drinkable?

Rafanelli Winery | Aug 24, 2020

Yes if it was cellared correctly. But remember Zin does not have the tannins like a Cabernet. This wine will be past its peak but will be soft, and smooth with an earthy quality.

Please tell me that you are safe from the fires!

Yes we are safe. Praying for everyone.

Are you growing the olives and pressing them in the olive oil bearing the Rafanelli label?

I've been enjoying their olive oil for years, which they indicate is pressed from olives borne by the trees on the terraced hill across from the tasting and storage 'barn'. The flavor profile varies from year to year but is always delicious!

So the fire did not destroy any of your vines?

They are safe on West Dry Creek Road. No vineyard destruction.
