We purchased a hat as a gift and it didn’t fit. We took it back within the return window, receipt in hand. The cashier informed my husband that she could not process the return without collecting his name, phone number, and email address. He declined to give his email multiple times, and she refused to refund him. Finally her coworker who was standing nearby helped her figure out how to process the return without him providing unnecessary private information. It’s apparent that they want to collect this information to promote push marketing. We have no need or interest in receiving any kind of marketing from them.
