Small park with small playground, lots of homeless people, there are better Parks than this one.

if you go down the trails leading from the park itself there's some amazing places. the park, is also fantastic as it has multiple recreation areas and a very upliftng atmosphere. A solid pick if you want to explore lawrence and get outside the town a little.

Wonderful park next to Kaw River. At the right time of the year you can watch the KU Rowing teams practicing their sport. Even on a cloudy, cold day in winter, there is wild life to enjoy watching.

I don't remember there being a playground last time I visited. But google maps shows one and park descriptions say that there is suppose to be one.
