I had a family member who needed to see a psychiatrist and we began our search here. During consultation we spoke to a female doctor who ended our meeting explaining that she couldn’t treat someone to get 100% better because that would mean that they’d lose patients. Perhaps she thought that it was an appropriate time for a joke because she laughed at her own remark. This was towards the end of 2019 and hopefully those who have visited La Casa have not come across this type of treatment since then—especially when loved ones are most in need. Aside from this, nurses and front office staff were very kind. We were able to thankfully get the appropriate resource to get treatment elsewhere. As recommended by a therapist in Rio Hondo Mental Health—if you feel that you aren’t getting the right treatment take down names, times, and locations. Don’t make the mistake we did. Doctors and nurses should be following ethical guidelines. Keep them accountable.

Don't work or seek any professional help at this location. Unethical and unprofessional. They will smile in your face and lie to you / the staff is on their phones, while on the floor (on duty) and at the counters / including front desk / the patients in the wards are not attended to as they should be / also catching and have seen Mental Health Workers playing games on phones / w manager (s) sitting in offices or at just at a distance to not be aware or accessible for oversight. If a complaint is made little to no action will be taken. If one quits a position for being treated less than earnings will be held / all the while these managers will allow the holding of earnings unfairly. I suggest anyone who may need employment or service to lean towards The Long Beach Department of Mental Health.

Typical mental health hospital. Staff do not care or pay attention to the patients or what is going on. Only working here for the paycheck. No help is given and you are worse off than when you entered the hospiral.

Came in with a referral from my doctor to get anti anxiety meds. was prescribed anti depressant ssri's and told they wouldn't make me drowsie. Which was a lie. Came back to change medication. I asked if the new medication was an ssri and was told no. I looked on my phone and the prescription was for an ssri. I came back and said the doctor lied to me, and a nurse came out and told me the doctor told me it WAS an ssri, and he told me 15 times it was an ssri before I left. This doctor is a liar and he refused to see me and change my medication.
