I love this theater! Seating is comfortable, employees are super friendly, good atmosphere all around.

Please, please attend as many movies as you can at this wonderful theater. Itβs such a nice feeling being treated as a person not a number. I truly enjoy the local flavor that permeates though the whole experience. Thereβs not too many of the small town theaters left. Why not support something thatβs historic, entertaining and just plain cool! π»

You get what you pay for This theater is low cost for tickets and concessions. It's 8 dollars for a ticket while other places is 13-15 dollars. Total for two tickets, large popcorn, and two sodas one medium and one large, the price was only around 30 dollars that's cheap compared to other theaters I've been to. Another theater I've been to cost around 30 dollars for two tickets, didn't even get any popcorn because it was already expensive for two tickets So what's the catch? Well the seats are small and uncomfortable. The audio seems more quiet than other theater audio. Finally, some of the cup holders can't even hold their own cups. It's still worth the money if you want a lower budget alternative and I go here occasionally for that reason but most of the time I go to the other theater that I usually go to because it's just an overall better experience and they show more movies

The theater has change a lot since it was bought. I watched the Black Widow for $5 dollars it was a special occasion. The sodas are weird, not a national brand. Also now they sell beer. I'm kind of neutral I don't know if I like it or not. The website says to buy the tickets online and they charge $1 fee for each ticket. However, you can avoid this fee by buying it at the concession.

Yes.
Not yet. But they're supposed to.
Their contact link doesn't seem to work... or at least it isn't monitored. I've inquired 2x over the last couple of weeks and have not received any response from the form... maybe there's another way to inquire, but sending through their online form does not seem to get noticed.
Is the Chabot Theater in Castro Valley open now
They've closed do to the virus. They are providing amazing movies to check out on their website and FB page. They're also leaving supportive messages on the Marquee.

Great family theater, old but clean and friendly. This theater is our pride in Castro Valley. Great spot for if you want to see a movie by yourself. Prices are affordable and so are the snacks. There's no riff raff like in other theaters.
