You can drop off old paint at an Alameda County Household Hazardous Waste facility, at a CVSan Recycles Day event, or at a few local locations in Castro Valley. For addresses and hours of the drop-off locations, visit www.cvsan.org/HHW.
For a list of places that currently accept rechargeable batteries and e-waste items, such as a rechargeable toothbrush, please visit stopwaste.org. Thanks! -CVSan
Hi Marcia, thanks for asking! Upholstery foam goes into your garbage cart. For other unique items feel free to check online at https://resource.stopwaste.org/ to find out what to do with different items. -CVSan
Although CVSan does not offer e-waste pickup, you may be eligible to take a variety of hazardous and e-waste items to Alameda County’s nearby collection facility. Visit stopwaste.org for more information regarding proper handling and disposal of these items. Thanks! - CVSan

Hello Jakizetta. Unfortunately, we are an administrative office, not a drop site for any materials. To dispose of a foam mattress, you may want to contact Alameda County Industries (ACI), at (510) 483-1400 and schedule a bulky item pick-up. They can collect and recycle the mattress for you. Thank you!
Hello Winnie, You can’t bring e-waste to our office, but the county operates several Household Hazardous Waste Disposal facilities. The only one currently open is the one in Fremont, at 41149 Boyce Road, open Wednesday through Saturday. The one in Hayward is currently closed due to the shelter in place order. We do advise residents to hold onto items for the time being if they can do so safely until things re-open. You can find more information on what to do with e-waste here: www.cvsan.org/ewaste Thanks for reaching out!

Hello, Ahren. Thank you for asking. Human hair goes in your garbage bin, not the green bin. -CVSan
