communicating with the staff at OTF is usually my first in-person interaction of the day (shoutout wfh life), and i'm always greeted warmly. i've got to give a specific shoutout to Davon, who has the most positive and vibrant aura! he's even memorized what station i like to start my workout at! brandon, camilo, lexus, and q are wonderful coaches. they check in on you, motivate you, and push you to the very best of your abilities. they've taught me my body is a machine, and i've seen it do some things i never would have imagined possible! i've grown some biceps that give me the ego to challenge my friends to arm wrestle :D great environment! great people! highly recommend !!!!!!

I LOVE OTF EMERYVILLE!!! Let me break down why OTF Emeryville is amazing. 1. The employees are the HAPPIEST, FRIENDLIEST, MOST SUPPORTIVE PEOPLE I've ever met at any gym. They're the biggest reason why I overcome my own laziness to get my butt to workout. Everyone knows you by name, and you'll feel like family there. Even all the members are super nice. Special shoutouts to the front desk staff (I hope I didn't forget anyone or spell anyone's name wrong!): Lexus, Alejandra, Devon, Allie, Addy, Danielle! ❤️ Also special shoutouts to the coaches/motivational speakers lol: Brandon, Lexus, Daniel and Camilo. Under certain lighting, you can start to see the slightest bit of definition in my arms, and for that, I thank y'all! 😂 The coaches believe in me and push my body to my limits. Turns out I'm stronger than I thought, and I'm only starting to explore what I'm capable of. Isn't that what a great coach is for?! 2. I love the workout! Every class is a mix of treadmill, rowing, and lifting, so you get a really balanced, well-rounded workout every time. I think most people burn at least 500 calories per class. You have the option of buying an OTF heart monitor (do it!) so you can see how hard you're working at any given moment. They also constantly have different challenges you can sign up for (i.e. rowing 200m or running 1 mile for your best time) and your stats get tracked in their app. OTF is honestly like a real-life video game! If you have a competitive nature, you'll love this feature, because you get to try to beat your personal best as well as compete with other gym members. They'll even post the leaderboard results on their Instagram, so that'll make you feel like you have even more skin in the game. It's also a really female-friendly gym, so if you've ever been intimidated by weight-lifting or rowing, this is a great place to learn these activities from supportive coaches and practice good technique/form. 3. Lastly, it's always super clean, they have free hairbands, dry shampoo, micellar water, deodorant, and free parking lol. I guess my only criticism is that their toilets get sometimes clogged! 😂 But that's not their fault, they didn't build the building lol. Love you guys!

Jesse, it depends on what plan you choose and where you live. They have an Unlimited One and it goes on from there. You can also buy packages that do not expire and can be used anywhere. Hope this helps. First class is always free.

If you’ve already been doing Orangetheory and become pregnant, check with your doctor first. Our heart rate monitoring is a perfect way to keep an eye on your intensity as you progress through your pregnancy. If you are a few months into your pregnancy and haven’t been doing any sort of fitness training, wait until after you have your baby and we can help get you back into shape!
Absolutely. Our coaches are trained to provide options for each exercise on the floor, in addition to offering a low-impact bike and strider alternative in place of the treadmill for lower body injuries or orthopedic restrictions.
Of course. Orangetheory is geared toward ALL levels of fitness and everyone is free and encouraged to go at their own pace. We recommend trying a free introductory workout, then discussing any thoughts or questions you may have regarding your fitness goals, with your coach.
Splat Points indicate minutes spent in the orange and red zones. Aim for 12 or more Splat Points per class.
Orangetheory is 5 Zone heart rate based interval training using specifically designed and timed interval training blocks. During a workout, members focus on Zones 3, 4 and 5. The workouts are designed to produce 12 minutes or more in Zones 4 & 5 combined (to achieve the after burn) during the treadmill training portion of the workout.
We’ll ask that you arrive no more than 15 minutes before workout and avoid congregating in the lobby.

Our workout room has a variety of equipment including treadmills (bikes and striders as alternatives), WaterRowers, and floor equipment including dumbbells, benches, TRX suspension trainers, medicine balls, BOSU trainers and AB Dollys.
Orangetheory is a 1-hour, full body workout, focused on training to build endurance, strength and power. We use heart rate-based interval training, which burns more calories post-workout than traditional exercise. When wearing our heart rate monitors, your real-time results are displayed on large screens throughout the studio. Intensity is based on your individual heart rate zones, making the workout effective for all fitness levels. To top it off, our fitness coaches lead the workout to prevent you from overtraining or undertraining.
OTbeat™ is our exclusive heart rate monitoring technology. Members have the unique experience of seeing real-time data during their workout, enabling them to push themselves to new limits.
