I am newly in the market for a car and strongly considering a hybrid or EV. After researching online, the RAV4 came up as an interesting option. I called Toyota of Berkeley to see if they had any in stock so I could see it in person and test drive it. I was asked pointedly if I was planning to purchase the vehicle, and I responded that I was interested and wanted to see it and drive it before making a decision. The representative told me they were “not in the business of letting people come joyride” their vehicles “since gas is $6 a gallon these days.” I was like are you serious? I think it’s normal to do research and due diligence in choosing a new car to make an informed decision. The level of customer service was beyond the pale. I would never purchase a car from this place now.

Buying: 2k-3k markups on new car sales. Very limited inventory. Difficult to get a hold of the sales managers at times. Selling: They do work with KBB but doesn’t follow the KBB pricing, annoying. They presents super lowball offer too start but will negotiate. beware of the purchasing manager, each of them gives a different price. They have 2 locations which made it super confusing come appointment time. Didn’t end up purchasing here.

I traded my car here back in August with the expectation that I would have 5 years of maintenance services for my new car through Toyota Care. When I took my car in for a check engine light diagnostic they told me it would cost over $200 to have my car scanned. I was told that all maintenance including check engine light diagnostics would be included in my Toyota Care package. The Toyota Care package was a huge consideration for me when I made the decision to trade my old car. The maintenance worker was unhelpful when I tried to ask for clarity around the situation. I would steer clear of this establishment if I were you!

I didn't buy a car here. They were my fail over place. But they weren't pushy, they were helpful and gave me good advice. Wish I had gone here first.

NO
I don't think so ....
You need to contact the location directly for that information or just drive on in and ask. This isn't the Toyota of Berkeley website. Good luck!
I would check with your local dealer
