Beautiful river area and nice picnic tables with barbeques. Be sure to buy your $5 day pass for the forest service ahead of time to display in your windshield. We found one tick on our dog, so be aware if you let your pets walk through tall grass.

Very nice medium sized picnic area. Would imagine in the summer it would get real hot and have lots of mosquitos but in the winter it’s perfect. Nice crisp air and beautiful golden light. Even though there is some trash here and there it’s relatively clean and neat. If it’s rained anytime recently best to take boots that you can walk through shallow water with to cross the trail. There are rocks and a tree trunk you can use to cross too. The trees are beautiful and lots of colors in the plant life even when it’s dry. Will visit again.

It's a quiet picnic area with plenty of tables so you dont have to sit on the ground. It's not far from Tujunga just a couple of miles and the ride there is also very beautiful. There is a nice swimming g hole right in the park which is best in the spring when the water really rises and overall this area is one of the best I know of in Los Angeles.

Hardly any shade, bathrooms are disgusting! You cannot flush these bathrooms and they were dirty! The "river or even they call it" is just a puddle of mud. Tried moving a couple rocks to let the water run but it did nothing, the water just got muddier instead of clearing up. There were tons of mosquitoes 😒 wouldn't recommend this place nor would I ever go back 🙄 waste of gas, waste of a day, waste of money (you must purchase a parking permit) our party arrived early to "save a spot" and people from another party were fighting for a tree and got agressive, eventhough it was on a first come first served basis. Definitely there's no signal up there.
