I have not used Independence Inc's services but I have heard wonderful things about them. They take great care to have an inviting and accommodating space, replete with informational posters, pamphlets and whatnot. Whenever I encountered an employee, they were always very warm and professional.

Horrid incompetent people working in this office. I had stopped by for questions about taking on a client but ended up to help one of their home health employees retrieve her pay statement for social services..because the facility workers refused to acknowledge her existence or help her. The girl was so upset, she ran out into the street in tears and I nearly drove my car right over her when I parked! I'd never seen racism quite like this in Lawrence before, and I was too appalled to inquire any further into my original reason for being there. Sad sad business.

Thank you for inquiring Melanie, we don't have personal care attendants on staff, that is not a service we offer I'm afraid. We process payroll for personal care attendants who's employers (the person who needs in-home care) have chosen us as their Financial Management Service (FMS) provider. On occasion we hear of someone who is a PCA looking for work but this isn't a regular part of what we do. Thank you again for inquiring and I hope this helps and makes sense!

Good morning Rhonda and thank you for the inquiry! In-town rides (within Lawrence city limits) are $3 per stop so a round-trip fare to one location would be $6. Price within Douglas County is $5 per stop and out of town medical rides are $30.
