I went to Cali-Camp back in the early '60's. I have many fond memories of my time there. It instilled a feeling of being comfortable in nature and inspired me to go backpacking and camping in the Sierras on an annual basis. I am very happy that kids today can still experience the "Great Outdoors" in a beautiful environment. Congratulations for keeping this spirit alive.

Cali Camp is my home away from home. It has been a hidden oasis for me and my coworkers since our very first day. This camp is magical for those who work here but even more so for the children! Seeing kids emerge themselves in the CaliCamp culture is life changing. The directors are focused on giving campers the most exciting, fun, and sometimes even a goofy experience. It's all about offering kids a fun safe place to be whoever they want to be. As a specialty area coordinator, I can tell you it isn't all fun and games. While the campers and also many staff members aren't aware of the endless amount of work that goes on beyond the scenes I can promise any parent that safety and fun are our number one goal. This place is more than a camp and has changed my life, it has made me believe in myself, push myself, and better yet has taught me the true meaning of unconditional love. Cali Camp is the family you didn't know you needed.

My daughter , Julia , went to Cali’s summer camp in 2019, and we thought it would be a safe and wonderful journey. However, something extremely horrible happened on the first day (August 5, 2019), my daughter was near drowning while participating in the water activity test , she swallowed a lot of water, bit both sides of her tongue badly, and vomited a few times. What’s even worse was that no staff in Cali took care of Julia, nobody notified us such serious problems, and we didn’t get any feedback from Cali. After Julia came back home, her whole body was trembling , and she vomited again. We took her to the emergency immediately, and the doctor’s diagnosis was near drowning, Julia should be stay at hospital . At that time, we could only learn about the terrible experiences of Julia through traumatic trauma and epistemology. Everyone knew that drowning people were most afraid of recalling drowning, let alone an 8-year-old child. The next day, we went to Cali Camp , and provide the doctor‘s diagnosis, but they didn't admit their fault in the incident and refused to take any responsibility. On August 9, 2019, we went to Cali Camp again , we asked Cali to give us the investigation report, for the director and lifeguard said differently with counselor and Julia. The director promised to investigate the incident and gave us a report document as soon as possible, but there’s no any reply until now . What we have learned through the incident was that Cali was not a professional camp, the owner, the director, and some of the staffs were careless, they ignored children‘s safety , and covered the truth . Cali did not ask anything about the situation of Julia when she returned home. Julia stayed at the hospital for emergency monitoring whole night, and then went to the children's doctor, which all had a doctor's diagnosis report. Our only comfort in this incident was that Julia’s body had no other terrible injuries except bites on both sides of the tongue, but we don’t know when the Psychological harm will recover. Julia is afraid of water now, even the sea that she once liked very much. After the drowning incident, as parents of the child, we have always maintained a rational, restrained and protective attitude to communicate with Cali. However, it has been 5 months since August 2019, we have not received any information from Cali Camp about the drowning incident. There was no feedback. We called Cali, emailed Cali , both no results. Today I hope that with the help of the online platform, the person who in charge of Cali Camp can see and hear our request. We need a fact report about the drowning of the child , and tell us what happened at that time! We can only give the worst evaluation for this summer camp. May God bless those who are honest and trustworthy! Julia's mother

This will be our son's 3rd year at Cali Camp (I wish we would of known about it earlier). We went to one of their open houses (highly recommended - see my pics) and saw how big and beautiful the grounds were and how many different activities the kids can do. They have different themed weeks with games that go along with the themes ex. Pirate Week. The staff and camp counselors are well trained, helpful and super friendly and its always great to hear how many years they have been working there. In addition some of the counselors used to be kids that attended Cali Camp year before. Our son loves Cali Camp and every year he has more friends that join him. We live in Marina del Rey and Cali Camp has a bus that comes to pick him up...the bus ride is about an hour but they have a ton of fun on that bus with the counselors, they sing songs and play games. And every day they come home exhausted and can't wait for the next day :).

We really value our unplugged campus and actually do not have cell service at camp. We encourage campers to leave all technology at home, however we do occasionally have older campers that bring their phones and use them once they get off the bus in the afternoon. We have phones and walkie talkies all over campus for emergencies and our local fire station is only a three minute drive away.
$875 for one week of classic camp.
While we have a few Fridays when we offer overnights for one night, we are mostly a day camp. We offer transportation included daily to and from camp.
