This has nothing to do with the rooms, customer service or the location but the restaurant is a rip off. I never had such a bad expansive food than the on I got from this place. to avoid disappointments do orders from outside. We ordered a Dragon salmon and it tasted like a peace of salt , carrots were just like left overs, and broccoli was yellowish. we had to order something else outside. a plate cost 22$ and that was a rip off..their breakfast if free and is awesome but avoid a heart attack and order food outside

Price and location is good. Free Breakfast consists of cold hard boiled eggs dried up greasy sausage, cereal and some yogurt if stocked. Hotel often smells like weed but beds are comfy and depending on who your neighbors are it’s quiet or very noisy. How quite it is is in direct proportion to pot smell. Bathroom. Some are not designed well

Pros: Nice people that work there and spacious room. We had a nice drink and meal in the bar. The rooms are clean. The hotel shuttle driver was very kind and apologized for the long wait. We were also given some money off our room due to the long wait. Check-in was fast and easy. Leaving the hotel the next morning was outstanding with no wait and on time service to the airport. Cons: The hotel and room were very outdated. It felt like a time warp to the 70s. The hotel shuttle took a while to get to the airport train for pickup. We called three times and sat their for about 45 minutes waiting trying to find out why there was a delay. Even the other hotel drivers were surprised to see us still sitting there when they were making the rounds. While we were safe at the hotel, we felt like we needed to bolt lock the door. It had that type of vibe. Not the fault of the hotel but on the map and while physically standing in the train station it looks like you can walk to the hotel from the Amtrak station. It should be a five minute walk but YOU CANNOT walk to the hotel from the train station! There is a fence!!! The hotel is in the middle of the larger parking lot so good if you have a car not if you get off the train. You have to take the airport train to get to a station for hotel pickups, then wait for their shuttle. This goes for every hotel at Newark.

Best Western saved us when we missed our flight due to a delayed train. They were able to check us into the hotel after midnight which many hotels do not have staff around for check in at that time. The rates were competitive. Their breakfast is hot and pretty good and operating normally (no covid issues or 'brown paper bag' breakfasts). The person assigned to breakfast is kind, attentive and made sure we didn't want anything else before she put breakfast away at 9 am. The rooms are quiet and comfortable. I'd stay here again. 10/10
