Is any apartment perfect? No. However we were charged an outrageous amount upon moving out and ended up owing money on top of them keeping our full security deposit. The carpet in these units is extremely cheap and not installed well, tactic to get extra money on move out? Most definitely. Our robotic vacuum tore up the carpet in both bedrooms due to how awful the installation was and there was no transition pieces installed from hard floor to carpet. Just tacked down..we were also charged for blind replacement for the blinds I notified them of when I moved in. We moved overseas for PCS so I didn’t have the time to argue with them but if we get stationed back in California we will not be going back to the foothills.

Revised: May 2020. I’ve lived here for about 6 months now and things have improved. The office manager and office staff go above and beyond to resolve issues and other concerns and are overall pretty amazing. The garage door and dishwasher were both replaced. A security guard has been hired to walk around at night to ensure safety, which makes me feel less uneasy about the open gates. The condition of the apartment at move-in was inexcusable, but they have tried their hardest to fix everything that was subpar. The parking is still a huge issue, but from my understanding that is an upper management issue. Overall, it is a decent and quiet place to live. I still wouldn’t call it luxury, but it’s nice for Temecula. My standards of “nice” have been rocked since moving to Riverside County (moving from 5 star restaurants and country clubs to here has been a little bit of an adjustment.) November 2020: I just moved across the country and into these apartments from Fairfield County, Connecticut, and I am so disappointed. I was really looking forward to living here, but it has only been 3 weeks and I wish I never signed my lease. First, I was met with a horrible stench in the apartment, the carpet smelled like wet yeasty dog. The light switches and outlet covers were disgustingly dirty. The blinds were dusty and gross. The microwave handle is broken, the fridge is scratched, the counter in the bathroom is dented and damaged by a straightener from a previous resident. I felt like I walked into my college dorm again, not a “luxury” apartment. Light switch and outlet covers are $1 a piece, they should be replaced between every resident. The blinds should also be replaced. The management fixed what they could, but it set the tone for the disappointment to begin. Then I realized my garage door remote rarely works, despite the maintenance personnel trying to fix it. Once I do get it open, getting my car in is such a challenge since the garages are so small and the parking is so tight. Which brings me to parking, the parking here is miserable. The leasing manager admitted that there are 800 cars registered to the property and only 400 spots. So when I come home at 9pm, there is not a spot to park in. I was told I could pay another $35 a month for a covered spot clear across the complex from where I live. Keep in mind, there is no regulation on parking. No stickers, no assigned spots, just whoever can park in the complex without consequence. The gates are always broken, or the back gate is consistently left open, so people from outside the community park their cars because it’s safer than the road. So I’m paying $2400 a month to park my car on the road in a “gated” “luxury” community. Lastly, “gated” is a loose term, the back gait is open more often than not. Today I was assaulted as I walked out of my apartment by a sketchy food salesman who was knocking on doors. I asked how he got in, he told me the gate was open. Sooooo if you think you’re paying extra for a luxury, gated, community, you are sadly mistaken. The upper management is awful and they have no control over what happens here, which leaves the office staff cleaning up the pieces and taking the blame. The condition of the apartments is far from luxurious. I’m quite sure the apartment I rented in college was kept nicer with more quality features than this.

Worst office personnel. Both females have the worst customer service. If you don't have any problems with the apartment you may think they are helpful, but the moment you have an issue they just turn rude and completely useless. If you as a tenant are in their eyes ‘difficult’ they decide it’s best that they don't respond to you when asking for information and they completely go around you calling other people on the lease. Wouldnt recommend this apartment to anyone.

We have lived here for over a year and a half, and ever since new management arrived this place has been amazing. We had issues in a previous unit (neighbors not the actual unit),and they were very helpful with moving us to a better unit, which we absolutely love! Jonna, Dalia, Tiffany, and Lindsey are all fantastic and we always have great interactions with them. For Halloween they put together a party for the residents, we loved that they went above and beyond to really make everyone feel welcome and at home. The upgraded units on the first floor have beautiful vinyl flooring in them, great for pets and kids. Maintenance is amazing and always responds promptly to request. Daniel and Lupita have both stopped what they were doing after hours to help us when we had an emergency at our unit. We love the atmosphere here and would highly recommend Foothills at Old Town.
