The original 'Essential' acai bowl recipe is back!! There was a test of a different acai base going on for awhile, but I am thrilled to see they're back to the OG recipe and it's as great as it ever was. Thanks to Dan the owner for reaching out to let me know, and appreciate the comped bowl today affirming that I can resume my addiction to this place!

Update: We've since been here two more times, including today, when we walked out, despite the chuckles of the smug hipster at the register, as we left. Last time, we learned that their grossly overpriced condiments are store-bought and include GMO ingredients like High Fructose Corn Syrup. For a place representing themselves as a healthy option, they should know better than to secretively serve HFCS! Secondly, the fact that they have a Kids Menu presents them as being family-friendly but the raunchy, vulgar music they play gives the opposite message! The first time, the owner was present and kindly changed it. We haven't been fortunate enough to see him there again. Today was especially bothersome, as we walked in to the entire "restaurant" smelling like a grease trap. It was comparable to the smell at a Burger King! After hearing the lyrics brag about strip clubs and lude acts, we decided we weren't eating there. I get that this industry doesn't exactly attract career-minded individuals but, at least a basic level of training and customer service is necessary. Note: Two stars is the minimum that Happy Cow will allow me to leave for a vegan establishment! Original Review: First, allow me to say that I'm grateful I don't live closer to this place or I'd be eating there DAILY! For under $55, I was able to feed myself and four kids, including dessert for myself (I paid for theirs separately, after). We thoroughly enjoyed burgers, grilled cheese and a chick'n sandwich with fries and onion rings, as well as a piece of peanut butter vegan cheesecake! My daughter's devoured the onion rings with ranch while my teenager utterly destroyed the cowboy burger! My 6 year old said his was the best grilled cheese he'd ever had! The customer service was wonderful, even graciously changing the music when an inappropriate song came on. I fully understand not hearing the music when you're working with it on all the time but, their willingness to handle it quickly was much appreciated! I was a little thrown off by our dine-in order being packaged to go but, we made due and it worked out great! Their selection of dessert options was amazing and I can't wait to return for a milkshake and the Sante Fe Wrap. They were out of avocado so I'd decided to save the wrap for a future visit. 😉 I can't wait to return!!!

Place is very clean and cozy. Staff and service were ok. You can get a variety of items like burgers, smoothie bowls, and soups. You can also add lots of extras like cheese, avocado, and coconut bacon. Food tasted pretty good. The only con I would say is that it is pretty pricey. I had a burger that ended up costing $15, which is one of the most expensive sandwiches I have ever had. In addition, I would reccomend ordering before online as food may take a while to prepare. Overall, I would reccomend as it is one of the only vegan places in the state.

I'm disappointed every time I go to this place. I wanted to like it, I've tried multiple times thinking it would get better, but no. There may be positive aspects of this place that I don't know, I'll just cover the problems I've had so far. 1) I was overcharged on my first visit. I had to go back through all the items myself to figure out what went wrong. There didn't seem to be an easy way to refund my money so I had to accept an additional item. Not the end of the world but not a good first experience, customer service was definitely lacking. 2) High pressure to tipping. This place uses a few high pressure tipping strategies, seems weird considering its just a juice bar in Delaware. I self served some juices from the refrigerator at the front, when I paid with my card I was prompted on the screen to leave a 10,15,or 20% tip, the cashier kept asking me to make a selection. Granted, there is probably a way to not leave a tip on the screen but you shouldn't even be prompted on self serve items. Additionally, they have a tip container at the register, I get that, makes sense. The weird part is, they keep the container filled with a large amount of cash, obviously indicating that you should leave a large cash tip (because everyone else is right?) I was there first thing in the morning and there was a full container of cash, obviously it's part of the strategy. Wouldn't be as much of an issue if the service wasn't so bad. 3) The customer service is bad, feels unwelcoming, buying something seems like a hardship. Granted, I've only dealt with the person who's always working the cash register, but from my experience, other reviews, and talking to people I know - this is a major issue. 4) No nutritional information. There is no nutritional information labels on any of the pre made items. There are calorie numbers on the website only for smoothies and bowls, but still not a full nutritional breakdown. Considering this place is supposed to be "healthy" I would like to know the exact information for any of the items I buy. 5) Consistency. There is no consistency at this place. I've bought toast 3 times, one was good, the other two were so bad I threw them out. I've also bought jucies that have been completely different on separate occasions. I had a charcoal lemonade the other day (probably the 4th one I've had so far) and it was so thick with charcoal I had to throw it out. You never know what you're going to get here. Ill include some pictures of the toasts. The owner drank a sample of one of the juices while I was there and said something along the lines of "this wasn't made right". 6) Online ordering. The online ordering app doesn't include the pre made juices, so you have to do a separate transition when you get to the store. The app also gives to 0 information about what you are ordering, no description or anything, you either have to know what you want already, or bounce back and forth from the website to the app. Of the 4 orders I have picked up, only 1 was on time. 7) Price. Considering all the downfalls, the low quality and bad service does not justify the high prices. Overall this wasn't just a bad experience, it's constiant bad service and low quailty. If this place doesn't make some major changes it won't last once people are past the "excitement" of a new store. No one wants to spend $6.50 on toast they have to throw out, or $9 on juice they can't drink. Photo 1 Non spicy toast, looks good but its burned. Photo 2 Spicy toast, literally DRENCHED in hot sauce, had to throw out. Photo 3 Spicy toast, normal amount of sauce but COVERED in hemp seeds. Too nasty to eat, also burned.
