Relaint food service has a wonderful selection of items especially if you're looking for specific natural and organic products. I was elated when I discovered them. Their delivery drivers were always helpful and great at communicating their arrival times when requested. The sales team is efficient at doing their job of helping get orders placed etc... Everything was great with this company until I needed to return some items that my manager ordered by accident as well as some other items that arrived in unusable condition. The unusable items were some syrups that could have gone off due to the extreme heat of summer. Easy situation for any food service to end up in. I've had things like this happen here and there with my other food distributors and they never have an issue taking them back or replacing them. Typically Reliant's product shows up in great shape. We just had two shipments that were not so. No biggie... until I needed a refund. Getting a refund processed with this company is like pulling teeth. First of all it's a big "to do" with them and they definitely allow you to feel that. I spent thousands a month with them so I wrongly assumed that requesting a refund once for a mistake on our end and a second time for a mistake on their end would be no big deal. I was wrong. After 2 months of working on it, I have partial refunds. I paid a 15% restocking fee for product that was new and unopened plus an 8% volume discount fee ontop of that. I was only credited for 5 boxes when I sent 9 back on the truck. Somehow the other 4 boxes went missing and they have no record of them. I've spoken to 3 different individuals in sales, customer service and accounting... each one said they would look into it and get back to me. After getting the run around for 2 months I am still without my full refund. I have yet to get any refund for the faulty syrups. Due to this discrepancy and the attitude I felt from this company I have chosen to give my business to a different distribution company. It's a bummer because I really did like Reliant. They're good when they're good but I need a company that can process a return once in a while without it being a problem and respect small business owners.
