I love this YMCA. The gym is well-equipped, they offer a fantastic number of group classes and its very near where I live. The only complaint I have is that I rarely feel welcomed when I initially check in. The woman at the front dest who I usually see is just not very friendly. She is a young Latina woman (I am brown too) and she has a cold demeanor. Other than her, I like it there.

I love coming to the YMCA! The staff and community who are at this gym are always wonderful to be around. It's like one big family here and going to the different types of classes, whether it be swimming classes, indoor classes, out door classes, or even just hitting the weight rooms, this is the place to be if you want to feel inspired and motivated to be a better and healthier version of yourself!

Wonderful place to take children to workout with you. Staff greets you upon entry and are usually friendly. Their kids activities are usually good with decent instructors. I also love all the group classes that are available throughout the day. Facility is clean and kept up. However, I rate the Ventura YMCA with a 3 star, because their swim team is half par. Instructors just tell the kids what to do with very minimal direction and/or correction on technique. If you are looking to improve your child’s swimming technique for future competitions, this is not the place for it. However, if you want them conditioned, then yes take them here. I was hoping for more technical instructions for my son and have voiced my concerns on several occasions, especially since I have to pay for my son to be on the swim team. Yet, their has been minimal change. I guess I should not expect to much considering they hire young adults to instruct the kids, whom are probably just paid minimum wage.

I've been a member of the YMCA for more than 6 years. I joined when my first child was a few months old. The Y has been a God send for me. Children's Corner and the child care that comes with membership has allowed me to stay sane over the past few years as my (now 2) children were growing up from babies, to toddlers and now pre-school/school age. From programs like swimming lessons, dance (itty bitty ballet - so cute) and introduction to various sports as well as other programming during the holidays, the Ventura Family YMCA has been a rock in my family's schedule. The facilities are excellent and are always being improved and upgraded. From the Fitlinxx room to the free weight room, the various community rooms and gym, the outdoor court and the therapy and lap pool, the Y has it covered! Patrons of the Y range from the very young to the very mature and it truly is a 'family' YMCA.

Hi Robin, per Ventura County health orders, all indoor pools are currently closed, including the Ventura YMCA. We are allowing members to use the Camarillo YMCA outdoor pool through reservations at ciymca.org/pool Indoor pools will reopen when Ventura County lifts the order.
Thank you for asking. For a full list of all of our activities please click here https://www.ciymca.org/ventura/activities/
I think so.

Hi Richard, Yes, we have a few different options for weight loss programs like Small Group Training, New Year's Weight Loss Program, and Y Fit Training sessions. I have a membership & my daughter just added herself & her 3 year old to my account. The 2 problems I have with the Y are: 1. Parking is a nightmare 2. Children must be potty trained to be in tchildren's area & the bathroom is located at the opposite end of the building & Y employees cant help children on the adult toilet . Otherwise I love it. I take a water class with Jane (who is AMAZING (80 plus with arms of steel & a "can do" attitude. I love her. The wter zumba class is excellent & I know alot of people who like the weight room & classes. I've been going on & off for 20 years & alot of people in janes class have been going that long & they suspiciously don't age!!! The baby water class is great & my grandson will probably be taking swim lessons soon. I love the Y and all the friends I've made there.
You can get a day pass, but membership is so affordable you'd be way ahead to join.
Their web site has the class schedules

Well, I really don't know, but there are all kinds of aquatic activities going on for all ages. Many opportunities for both men and women. Be encouraged to participate cause I see a lot of people enjoying the programs our YMCA provides! Gerry Weeks Ventura.
To add onto that response, as a member, you have access to most group classes and all facilities. Certain programs (swim lessons, personal trainers I believe, etc) require an additional cost, though that amount is discounted for members.
