I was very pleased with the automation with all the alerts via text to pre-register and register for the appointment, to the point that it tells you when your tech is ready for you with the option of waiting in your car. The results report with images came back the same day, within the hour and accessible through my account portal which was awesome! I am very impressed with IHS.

I had a great experience here. The person that booked my appointment was professional, courteous & got me an appointment rather quickly. The girl who did my exam was extremely professional but also very warm. A breast exam can be uncomfortable but Megan was kind and explained everything she was doing. I highly recommend them

I had two appointments and they booked them one after the other. First was an MRI. I checked in on my phone. They told me to come in and go to a certain area, only sat there maybe 5 minutes. Never had MRI before. Tech was great and friendly. Seemed to go by quickly. Next was a DEXA Scan only it was 35 minutes until appointment time. Receptionist said she would let them know, sit down and wait please. Three minutes later they called me. This tech was also very personable and I felt at ease. And it was quicker than the MRI. I would have to say that is pretty amazing. And then a couple of hours later I received an email and the reports and images were available. This is a very well oiled machine. Sure it isn't always that way, but if it is you are on to something stellar.

I'm giving them a five-star for their staff professionalism and knowledge. For some procedures you can get an appointment but for x-rays you cannot walk-in only. There always is an hour or more wait for walk-ins. The staff is always friendly and helpful if you have any paperwork that hasn't been processed from your doctor they will help you as much as they can. If you don't want to sit inside and wait which I usually do not when I go there there's a nice patio with plants tables and chairs. There is free parking and there's also metered parking on the street. This time I was in the Radiology with Paris a kind and knowledgeable technician. Who let me know every time that I needed to change body poses and gently moved me into position when I was not. She laughed at my sense of humor which made me feel very comfortable being there . My experience going here over the years has always been a good one and I highly recommend this particular Imaging Center.

For our claustrophobic patients we offer state of the art MRI scanners that have a larger bore which is the circle a patient moves through for the scan and it is shorter, so not a long tunnel like design of the past. Our MRI scanners are also faster then the older open MRI model so the exam is completed in most cases half the time. We made the decision not to continue with open MRIs as the image quality didn't meet our standards. If you are claustrophobic, our Encinitas office MRI is recommended as it in a room with windows.

Hello Lori, Thank you for your question. If you have a patient portal account with IHS, then you can log into it and pre-register for your exam. This will expediate the check-in process. If you don't have patient portal access, the day prior to your exam IHS will send you a text message that has a link to pre-register for the exam. On the day of the exam, IHS will again send you an automated text message with instructions on how to check-in for your exam in the comfort of your vehicle to avoid contact during the check-in process. Sincerely, The Imaging Healthcare Specialists Team
