Very friendly and helpful staff. I come here for the free compost for my vegetable garden: It’s a great service. Note that the wait to get in can be long-ish - I think I’ve averaged 30-45 minutes wait.

Almost always find parking right away. The employees are always friendly and helpful, plus expedient. Been coming to this convenient location for years.

For a landfill this place it pretty good. The line coming in took some time because each car drives onto a scale and pays the fees. It was a flat rate for my vehicle regardless of the amount of trash in the car. The staff was friendly and efficient. I found my way to the Public Dump area easily with the signs posted. I was surprised that the area did not smell too bad. Overall I think it was a very smooth operation.

Not only can you drop off a huge truck load of stuff here for a small fee. You can also get lots and lots of FREE compost and mulch! I never knew this until I recently did a composting course at the Solana Center online and discovered this wonderful service Miramar Landfill is providing. So now you can grow your plants and flowers for free and have the good conscience to know your food waste is not going to waste in San Diego! I was advised by the staff to come during weekdays however if you want to avoid a long line to get in. I waited over halve and hour on a Saturday afternoon to get in. You have to get a ticket at the ticket booths before driving a few minutes following the signs for "Greenery". Compost is free for San Diego residents, $12 for everyone else. Mulch is $5 for everyone else. I’m so happy to know that my food waste in San Diego is not going to waste. Instead, with my tax money it is being composted into compost that I can use in my garden to grow more food or plants to uptake excess CO2 from our atmosphere :D ..BOOM..!That is exactly how taxes are supposed to work.

The City Employee with the shiny chrome badge, had cones set up stopping traffic, said unless I had a pre arranged ongoing account at the landfill, " It was closed indefinitely " good choice of words.
They take yard waste and they sell different types of mulch and compost for pretty cheap! The compost and the standard mulch are free for San Diego residents if you load it yourself
Yes you can
Yes
54 bucks
They take it for free
Is by the weight You have to jump on the scale and they will tell you not expensive at all.
Yes
Well they usually charge per load (truck bed and/or trailer)size with the exception of mattresses and tires (per item)? If the cabinets are in reusable condition then you could donate them to the "Habitat for Humanity" for free and even get a tax deduction for the year.
Yes at the metal center at the landfill
Yes but may not be on monday
No, but you can call City of San Diego .
They can be recycled as scrap metal. As you go in there on your right hand side.
Yes they do, but in oder to enter the landfill you must have a account set up. They no longer take cash, checks, or credit cards.
I know the have dumpsters wich you can dispose of paper produxts
I'm not sure how much it is you might want to call them ask Google to give you there phone number.
Bring your tv and microwave to 2618 Temple Heights Dr A, Oceanside, CA 92056 from 8 to 4 Monday to Friday. Free electronic recycling.
Yes you do
Two different times I paid $12 and $14 if I'm correct
Go to bns in lakeside will be way cheaper
The Deferred Payment Account (DPA) is an option to keep track of your activity. Look up Miramar Landfill, and look for Deferred Payment Account. You can start your application there. The account is based on a Bond that you aquire yourself. The city does not offer credit. It's best to get a bond that is equal to 3 times the amount you spend in a month.
NO
125 $
No you cannot kill yourself and then bury yourself in a dumps.
You can take just about anything, except dead people lol😅 They open from 7am to 4pm, no need for reservetation. You enter at own risk and expect to pay anything from 20 to 80dlls. Avoid cph fines by covering your load
They are closed Sunday.
Wouldn't suggest going there just for vacuum cleaner. It costs money and time. Your best option would be to disassemble it and put it to a recycling bin.
Yes you can
I'm sorry I don't know the answer to your question but you can call them they are answering the phones again
Depending on what it is it should be under $50
Never been able to dump anything liquid
Those without an account pay with credit card. Also, do not pull in to the right most weigh-in lane, it is for patrons with an account.
It was...as of this lockdown coming within hours ...I dont know anymore.
I heard that you can dropped wood for free if its clean but double check by giving them a call
It would be considered trash, and depending on the vehicle you're driving you get charged a fee. I drove a Van and it cost 42$. Prepare for a long line, they apparently have a new system and it takes forever to get through but you can definitely drop off wood and scrap. Saw a bunch of contractors getting rid of scraps from job sites. Good luck hope this helps
It's still open, only thing that changed is no more cash payments. Only debit/credit cards or checks is being accepted as payment.
Yes It's open
It depends on how big the vehicle. It costs around $24 to $42
They pretty much take anything that's not hazardous. Rocks and dirt should be fine under general pricing.
Trash is 59 per ton and demo is 125 per ton
Around $50. I suggest u put as much trash as u can Cuz its gonna cost about the same
Why am I getting questions like this I do not take anything to that landfill I am their Courier
Yes the landfill takes those items.
You can recycle for free asst Sycamore Landfill. Allied waste has a recycle place in front! If you take it to Miramar it's charged as trash and depending on your vehicle type and origin it can cost anywhere from $23 up to $50
Cardboard is recyclable😊 But the packing paper might need to go in the trash. You can look up paper recycling facilities and check for sure. If you take the cardboard to the Alan Recycling (Miramar Recycling) it won't cost you anything. This is located on convoy just before you get to the landfill.
Yes! We'll be open our regular hours, 7am until 4pm for cars, trucks and vans.... 4:30 if you have a dump trailer or truck.
No there's a 30 dll fee or more depending on weight
Yes. Cash and checks are accepted, no debit or credit at this time.
The city of San Diego has a recycling ordinance, so it is recommended that you try to recycle any parts or metals that are recyclable. What is imperative is that the fuel tank and oil chamber is void of ANY fluid. Once you recycle the metals you can toss the remaining parts in the landfill.
I think it is about 80$ or 90$,if its not that then its by the weight of ur load.
If you are a city of San Diego resident and you bring your proof of residency, you can bring in recyclable greenery for free. Anything that is a succulent or fiborous may need to be approved. The definite no's are Palm, cactus, fire stick (pickleweed) bird of paradise, bamboo and yucca. You can ask for a greens check list at any booth.
Franco, The landfill doesn't allow paint. You would need to check with a paint store like Frazee or Sherwin Williams, or an agency who is part of the recycling program. Have you thought about Craigslist? There may be people out there that would love to donate their paint to you! Go to the "Wanted" section and post
No just go in pay the fee and thats it
Go to the City of San Diego website and look for job openings.
Miramar landfill does not accept any oil. Alan recycling will accept cooking oil, but I'm unsure about motor oil. You can call your local hazmat drop off and make an appointment for motor oil.
I'm not sure yet but I don't think so
Yes, Delia is correct take your portable AC unit to Alan Recycling, located when you first enter the landfill.
Miramar landfill is not a recycling center for things like this.
Today 7/15 the lines are long because the computers are down. Also, one of the scale's is currently no working that's why that booth is closed..
There are several paint stores, like Dunn Edwards and Sherwin Williams that are part of the paint recycling program. They will take your old paints.
It's based on the type of vehicle you are transporting it in and where it's coming from. Car, truck, suv, mini van and small trailers 5'x8' and under all have flat rate fees so fill it up and make it worth your drive! Trailers that are more than 5'x8' are done by weight.
The Landfill is open Monday thru Saturday and as long as the greenery has the product you're looking for, you can get it any day.
Yes but with restrictions no trailers end dumps or semitrailer
For city residents, you can load your own compost for free. Up to 2 yards. If you're not a city resident it's $12 and they'll load for you.
Depends what vehicle your in and material your bringing in to the landfill.
Thats true they have no respect for nobody they are rudes and they feel untouchables Just because are San Diego city workers,,,make a complain on them...
Water heaters are not allowed. You can take it to recycling
It's really hard to find places to take furniture. Miramar landfill will take old furniture at a cost. I suggest you contact Urban Core... They set up at the stadium every Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. They take mattresses and other hard to dispose of items. CALL FIRST! See what they take and try to save money before heading to the landfill
Three...Miramar landfill on convoy Otay landfill on main street in chula vista And santee landfill on mast blvd

Regular pick up is a flat fee of $55.00dlls concrete is consider DEMO
No liquids or any type of chemical allowed to be disposed
Miramar landfill does not take appliances you need to go to allan recycling

Yes, you can self-load up to 2 cubic yards of free mulch. You can't add pictures to these responses, but I'll add some to the landfill Google page
It's Iceplant. Real Iceplant as opposed to Sea Fig that we call Iceplant.
They are open 7-4 on weekends. Mulch and compost are free if you self load. I bring ashovel., gloves, a 50ish gallon trash bin and Yard waste bags that fit in the bin. Fit a bag into the trash can and scoop up what you are getting. 10 scoops for compost, 20 scoops for mulch is a managable weight. Getting my stuff to go right now!
7am to 4:30 weekends 7:30 to 4:30 closed on , Christmas, New Year's, Easter.
All depends on how heavy your load is,they have a scale you go thru it on your way in as well on your way out.
No , you need to call lighting resources for that, Miramar landfill won't take that cain of waste.the paper that you need is call "straight bill of lading"
Is not true, you can bring your uhaul trailer no problem
It is not legal to dispose of lights, you will have to call lighting resources such is a company that specialize in light bulbs
No it is not
I received a flyer from them, SD residents get 2 cubic yards free supposedly. I'm not sure if that is per visit per day for year or lifetime or what. Also there is a wide range of mulch and green materials available, depending upon size, content (some has trash in it!!) and even color. $12 to $36 per cubic yard, I believe.
