Foster City PD is using body cams, several of their officers opt to go out without a fire arm strapped to their sides and they have had proper training on how to deal with mentally disabled people. Having been apprehended by Foster City police a significant number of times over the last few years, I think I'm in an excellent position properly valuate the service that's being provided by the Foster City PD. They don't escalate to force needlessly and they are very responsive to requests and if needed will even operate outside of their territory if they think it will benefit one of the citizens of Foster City, something I haven't seen done before by any other police force.

Foster City police are fantastic. Extremely professional, always visible around town, and very friendly. They make this place such a great area to live.

Tell your son how you feel in a 1 on 1 conversation or have a friend with you when you do it if you feel unsafe. That's a good first step in my opinion.
