Hello, I just wanted to take a moment to thank Smith Ranch for the compassionate care they have provided me during my stay here. When I admitted here I was a mess. I didn’t want to be here, I was in pain, and I could barely move (I was in a serious car accident and ended up with multiple broken bones, a punctured rib, surgeries and more). The nursing and therapy staff were very nice right from the start and I was really hard to deal with and sometimes not so nice to them. Eventually I started to trust them and that has sped my recovery up. I have been here now for 2 months and will be going home Fiday (Yayyy!). Anyway, I want anyone who is considering (or in my case fighting the idea of) skilled nursing to give Smith Ranch a try. If they can be so successful with me then they can do it with anyone.

I can’t say enough about Smith Ranch. My mom went there after she fell at home and ended up with a subdural hematoma and a broken clavical bone. She was confused and in pain. The nurses made sure to give her the pain meds whenever the doctor ordered and even advocated for an increase in pain meds when the other dose wasn’t working. Without this my mom never would have been able to participate in therapy. My mom has been home for two and a half weeks now and is doing right really well. I don’t think she would have thrived as well in a different facility. Thank you to all the nurses and therapists that got her back to her old self.

My grandmother discharged home from Smith Ranch a week ago. She went there after surgery for a fractured hip. I can’t say enough about the care she received. She became very close to a couple of CNA’s and nurses. The physical therapists and occupational therapists were gentle but pushed her to do her best. Without them she wouldn’t be home now. Her only complaint was that she didn’t like a few of the meals that were made, but she’s picky so I won’t hold it against them. When it was time to for her to come home the case manager helped me get all the stuff that she would need at home. Overall, from her admission (which btw, the admission director was super helpful and knowledgeable) to discharge things went pretty smoothly. She said if she has to go back to a nursing home again it will be Smith Ranch.

Throughout my stay at Smith Ranch I have received excellent care, most especially in occupational and physical therapy. My programs were specifically tailored to my physical condition so that progress was consistent and met my goals. Staff were highly professional, caring and compassionate.
